So what word would you use to describe the program? Because I think I used a pretty accurate word. Im not going to apologize for wanting more out of this program. Getting to 6 wins on a consistent basis isnt too difficult. They way the program is set up now, we arent going to come close to that for a few years.

But Im not a Cyclone fan because I see stuff for what it is....?

Again. You are NOT a Cyclone fan because of the way you denigrated the team, players and program. Seeing stuff "for what it is" is irrelevant. All of us see that the program is in a very difficult time, but only a few of us call our own guys "crappy" or a "dumpster fire". That's because an intelligent person can offer constructive criticism, and/or criticism that doesn't denigrate its subject. For example, I COULD say that you are an immature, self-centered dipwad lacking the intellect to even understand the deeper problems the program faces...or I could just say you're not a Cyclone fan. They convey the same meanings, but one is far less denigrating.

Accuracy is not the issue, so quit feigning that the need for accuracy requires you to belittle our team, players and coaches. Some of you think you're a core of "enlightened" geniuses who see what others don't regarding the poor state of the program...newsflash...you are not. We all see the problems and we are all as determined as you to fix them. The only real difference is in how we want to do so...so you can set aside the childish view you that "you are just calling it what it is"...because we all know what "it is".

Everyone wants the program to be better.

So it is okay to be negative and say bad things about someone or something if "I see stuff for what it is???"

You are an ******* who is not wanted in Cyclone Nation. Please leave. You have been cut from the team. We do not want you.

I'll admit to having overly emotional responses to those who denigrate Cyclone players, teams and programs. Criticism is always welcome and nobody's opinion is inherently more correct than others...but how you criticize is everything. Calling our guys/teams crappy and a dumpster fire isn't OK. Beyond that, I will go with agree to disagree.

No because you basically said he was an idiot for wanting to come here and that isn't cool. Wouldn't that make you an idiot for being a fan of said team? So either you're an idiot, not a fan or just said something stupid. I don't recall you being an idiot or a troll for another team so I will assume you just said something stupid. Regardless this is not the place for it. Back to Carson Epps.

In regards to this kid and this entire recruiting class......

This is the FIRST recruiting year under the new staff. We don't know if they have a better/worse eye at finding talent than previous staffs at Iowa State. I do feel a lot better with Mangino finding these kids than I did with Messingham. That's not a dig at Courtney either, it's just that Mangino has proven results over a long career.

Mangino, Mangino, Blaney, Ayeni, Eggen, Lindquist. That's 6 of 9 coaches that are new to this staff. I'm not sure how we can blame them for the current lack of talent in the program, and not give them somewhat of a benefit of the doubt with this recruiting class.

But hey, I'm a 1/2 glass full guy and not someone that likes to be negative all the time. Sue me.

Watched his video, was very impressed! Looks long, catches the ball with his hands, gets great separation, appears to have nice speed!

Wondering why no one else has offered. If mangino likes him, I do too.

Sounds like he had practically no stats from his junior year and had a monster senior year. If he didn't hit camps & combines over the summer, I'm not surprised he's under the radar. Currently going through the same thing with my son.

Bingo. It's getting quite sad

So you think it is sad that someone does not get into insulting our recruits? Or make constantly negative comments about our football program?

Let's say that you met a person who constantly met people and told those people they were ugly and stupid. That they totally sucked at everything and they had no personality. Would you say that person "was just being honest"??? Or would you say that person was a rude *******???

This is more about appropriate behavior towards people and programs and conducting oneself in a proper manner. There is a polite way to give constructive criticism. Unfortunately for many of you, you lack those social skills.

Yep. Because saying a player has a poor offer list is comparable to that. Get a grip.

Yeah, the last line of CPR defense.....
2014
SMU and Georgia State won one game in 2014. Both teams are not in power five conferences.
Colorado and ISU won two games in a power five conference in 2014.
Vanderbilt, ISU and Colorado did not win a conference game. ISU did beat a power five school. Colorado beat Hawaii and then UMASS by three points.
Vanderbilt beat FCS Charleston Southern and then UMASS by three points.

2013-2014
Georgia State has won one game in two years. Not a power five.
Idaho has won two games in two years. Not a power five.
Eastern Michigan has won three games in two years. Not a power five.
Purdue has won four games in two years. Power five.
UMASS has won four games in two years. Not a power five.
New Mexico State has won four games in two years. Not a power five.
UCONN, Hawaii, and FIU have won five games in two years. Not power five.
ISU has won five games. Power five.
Kansas has won six games in two years with two coaches. Power five.

Western Michigan went from one win in 2013 to eight in 2014. Plus seven gain.
Air Force went from two wins to ten. Plus eight gain.
California went from one win to five. Plus four gain.
Arkansas went from three wins to seven. Plus four gain.

How many will we win in 2015? You can count New Years as 2015.

Kind of a Catch 22 argument you are making there. He should not get a scholarship offer from ISU because he only has an offer from Tulsa in addition to other smaller school offers?

If you actually studied his HS career instead of being an uninformed jerk (nothing personal, just an honest opinion), then you would know that he had a breakout season in his senior year and set records for receptions and yards in a season for his team.......which won its 3rd consecutive 6A title in Oklahoma. Prior to his senior season he only had 6 catches in the previous 2 seasons. So he is a late bloomer and under the radar. That is the reason for the lack of big name offers. Someone has to be his first P5 Conference offer. Or do we not make assessments and then let other schools beat us to the punch?

All in all, Epps seems to have good size and good speed along with good hands. And seems to be a very good route runner. IMO, Epps along with Denver Johnson gives us a couple more receivers with decent size and speed.
