Re: Rashad Vaughn

Alright well say UNC is out of the picture. Why would he choose Iowa State. I think the biggest thing going for us is style of play and his relationship with Matt Thomas. With that being said, there are tons of teams out there who play up and down.

So you come to our board and expect us to try and convince you why somebody would choose ISU? If you are an ISU fan you already know...so we know you aren't one.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Roy Williams can't develop players. Players can't be prominent at UNC like the will be at ISU. Players wont be appreciated at UNC like they will at ISU.

We almost sound like the "right way" crowd.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

But if we have some hope, it is that the parents have encouraged him to wait. There must be some reason they didn't want him to commit to UNC.

Your first post was pretty clear. This one abandoned any pretext of subtlety. You smell trollish.

Also, your grammar is very poor, and you badly mismanaged the singular and plural word forms by mismatching them in a sentence. You sound uneducated, even for a troll.

Go find your bridge. How many teams made more 3's and scored more points than us over the time CFH has been coach.....(crickets) not many...imagine what RV and his talent level would be like in that type of game plan. I would say that puts him in gauranteed top 5 pick category.

$100 down for RV committing to a collegiate basketball team, on a day of the week, in the year 2013.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It is between us and UNC, Minnesota is out of the picture. This is a fact. I have sources :embarrassed: This is what I have been hearing anyway, obviously not earth shaking news, most of you guys know this as well.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I think the new coaching staff at Minnesota put them back in the race. You never know and he has been very mute on where he is leaning with exception to UNC. To me, even with Pinson committing, UNC is still the favorite till I see otherwise.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Well look at this matchup Sunday at the Nike EYBL #4 - Minneapolis.

Top Match-ups:
Theo Pinson (CP3) vs. Rashad Vaughn (Wisconsin Playground Elite)
Time: Sunday, 11am

Two of the top wings in the country get to go at it on Sunday morning. Playing in his home state, Rashad Vaughn will look to cement his place as the premier wing in America and prove that he has overtaken all of the players like Pinson that were ranked higher earlier in their careers. This past Wednesday, Pinson committed to the University of North Carolina after being a top target for the past three years. While Pinson recently committed the Tar Heel staff had seemed to make Vaughn their top target over the past five months with both players taking visits during the same weekend in March. Vaughn is currently averaging 19.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game despite facing constant double teams and box-and-one defenses. Pinson on the other hand is averaging 13.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Vaughn will look to show off his offensive prowess and one up one of the better defenders in the EYBL.

Want to try again?

2012-13 NCAA Division I College Basketball Team Statistics - ESPN

Only Indiana and Duke are the blue-bloods in the top 10 (ISU is #4) in scoring. So he should consider Iowa State because 1) we score, a lot and 2) he would have every opportunity to be the star and focal point of the team and 3) we could be just as good as some of the blue-bloods in 2014.

We know HB had to learn to play defense once he reached the NBA. They forgot to show him at UNC.

For the last time, if you are going to bring facts into this, we will have to agree to disagree

I'm pretty sure Rashad Vaughn has said he plans being patient with his decision. If that is the case, he will most likely be a late signing period guy. He's been quoted as saying he will wait and commit after his senior year basketball season is over which will be in the spring of 2014. You're going to lose that bet.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It appears (from Twitter) that he is a heavy UNC lean. He even congratulated Theo Pinson on his commitment. If Pinson's commitment meant Vaughn couldn't go to UNC, I doubt he would say that (but it is Twitter so who knows)

There could be other very legitimate reasons for him to congratulate him other than a UNC lean.

The fact that they will be facing each other shortly and that they also know each other from visiting the school at the same time could make Vaughn congratulating Pinson less likely to indicate anything other than what it appears on the surface.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Wow, reading into that much people? He probably met him, and did the same thing Ross and Lazard did when each committed and congratulating each other. Because it's the civil thing to do. Can these threads get any more silly?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Then there was this written prior to Vaughn's visit in March by a Tar Heel recruiting site.

UNC currently has three offers out to uncommitted perimeter prospects in the 2014 class with Theo Pinson and Devin Booker also holding offers. However, Roy has made it clear that he has one spot open and it will likely be first come, first serve as all three players would be welcome additions with Vaughn as the best option.

There has been some time since this was written and things change but saying Pinson's commitment won't affect Vaughn isn't correct.

That could just be a way for Roy to pressure indecisive recruits. I don't believe for a second that if Vaughn called Roy wanting to commit, that Roy would say no.

Pinson's commitment may ofcourse affect Vaughn's- but that's because it may dissuade Roy from going to NC, rather than causing Roy to refuse Vaughn.
