I bet he ranks better at the end of the year. It's hard to quantify what a year off will do for him, so they're probably judging him by how he was the last time he played at Michigan St..

you know you can always click on the link to find out why.

Smart at 5 seems kind of high. I know he's really talented but he's still a freshman and PG isn't even his natural position.

Missouri is going to be fun to watch again this year. They have two point guards listed in top 26. It will be interesting to see what they can do in SEC, imo.

Agreed. Pierre Jackson (7) is surely a better player than Smart at this point. And I'd still rather have a senior Elijah Johnson (14) than freshman Smart, if we're just talking one season.

If Lucious is a top 40 pg..... this team could do pretty well and sniff the NCAAs again!.

Slap in the face for K-Lu, he's better than that!

There are 347 Division I schools when it comes to men's basketball. Figure at least 2 PG per team.......that puts him at a minimum in the top 6% of all Division I PGs. That doesn't seem too bad to me, especially considering he has not played in a year.

In reality thrre are 347 starting point guards in Division I. That puts KL roughly in the top 12%. I think he's better than that.

Korie belongs a dozens spots higher up. Obviously some scorers who play the 1 a little bit will be on the list. He is pretty much equal or a tad better than Appling, Chaisson Randall, and Kevin Pangos those are the guys I compare him to IMO.

He's MUCH better than Triche and Golden the two next to him on this list and its not even close if you compare him head to head with those 2. (I heard Cuse AD accidentally call Brandon something a little inappropriate in the team hotel bar the night between sweet 16 and elite 8 lol.)

No clue how Smart is that high despite not playing a minute. I think Flip and Canaan are overrated. Same with Kraft but he'll get a lot of love for pretty obvious reasons and Pierre Jackson is also ahead of waaaayyy to many guys.

I doubt there are 10 true points above Korie most are combo scorers and truth be told Korie can't score/shoot like Rotnei Clarke or Ray Mc Jr but I think I'd rather have him on this ISU team than them.

My list is a bit biased (they are my personal favorites) but my top 10 PG roughly in order is

Burke
Deonte Burton (biased pick but I'd bet a fortune that less than 5 of these 50 guys listed get picked before him in the draft)
Chaz Williams
Lyons
Dellavadova
V Council
Korie
C Randle
DJ Cooper
Siva/Kwaimaine Mitchell/MCW tie for 10th.

I can't help but think of that old ESPN commercial with Charlie and Evander Holyfield...

SportsCenter Commercial - YouTube

"Korie, CBS sports says you're the 40th best PG"

"In college basketball?"

"No...in Ames"

lol Hopefully he'll be a top 5 PG by years end...

Then he should have shot better than 39-125 (31% FG%) at Michigan State. If he had been getting slapped in the face, though, it would at least explain his poor shooting.

PG's aren't all about shooting...DG was not the greatest shooter (31.9% 3 FG) either but he's got a chance at NBA for the second year in a row. I'm sure Fred has worked on his shot and his maturity will help with that as well.
