I'm all over the place, just depending on how it feels. Seems to vary with if it's humid or "dry" in the house. Guessing 74 is sort of the norm but will go lower to chill down some if it feels stuffy at all (or before bedtime to drop temp for initial sleep).

Yesterday might have been a first for me, ran heat and A/C on the same day. Took morning chill off by running heat for a few minutes Sunday AM. By afternoon it was quite humid. Niece and family arrived later in the day and they are from dry air foothills in Montana so dropped A/C on to dry and chill the house a bit before bedtime. They are off to day to SE Iowa. Kids are going to think it's stupid humid!
This is what I do too. I refuse to be even slightly uncomfortable in my own home. That usually ranges from 66 to 74 depending on the weather outside, but I'll go as low as I want to or as high as I want to to be comfortable. As an added bonus I will open our patio door when it is cold or hot out sometimes and adjust the thermostat accordingly to compensate if I feel like letting some fresh air in regardless of the temps outside.

Built in 1920,...9' ceilings downstairs, 7' upstairs, with a forced air system. A coal bin in the basement.

Updated a bit since then,.....Duct controls in the basement allow huge changes in air-flow. Winter, close down upstairs, open downstairs and it is all good, 70* at most,....heat rises.

Spring/summer,....push most A/C air upstairs, even with 7' ceilings it gets very cool with the temp at 68*. Cool air sinks.

Physics works.

We're 69 at night and 71 during the day. All year.

My wife and I are on the same page. We spend enough time outdoors that we refuse to be uncomfortable in the house.

Does anyone have a whole house fan? Ours hasn't worked since we moved in and I've been thinking about replacing it.

I live in Arizona too. We keep ours at 78 or 79. Sometimes we drop it to 77 overnight.

I'm curious, do you have yours set at a constant temp? or do you drop it at night, i used to let it get a little high in the house, but it would take FOREVER to get back down and our electricity prices were insane.
