I was actually fairly proud of the Hawkeye fans I know, I only heard the "superbowl" comment once after the game and that guy was hammered. It's progress since last year.

Not so fast. UNI will be coming into this game knowing they can win. It's going to be a battle just like ISU vs Iowa. I expect Iowa to win, but it's going to be a battle. UNI is always a solid FCS team.
The great thing about Rhoads is that he came to build a program. Beating the in-state rivals is certainly a good thing, but it no longer matters if we don't do anything with the rest of the season. I can definitely tell that is the case for the team now too. And, slowly, but surely, most of the fanbase is starting to change their thinking too!
A win over iowa is definitely no longer "all that matters". The hawks are just trying to make themselves feel better by thinking of us that way ("little brother", "superbowl", etc). Calling UNI the best team in the state is just their latest way of doing it.
Meanwhile, the coach, team and most of the fans have moved on and are hoping for (& beginning to expect) better things from the rest of the season.....time to go out and improve against WIU!

To be fair though, it is hard to make the super bowl claim when we obviously played like crap and did everything in our power to **** away the game after the 1st quarter.

I will be the biggest UNI fan ever this Saturday - more so than when the beat Kansas in hoops. After the game they can drift away into obscurity & smoke from the fires in the Eyes' nest in IC will be seen from Des Moines.

So I am confused, if the UNI fans are cheering for Iowa and we are all cheering for UNI, what are the Iowa fans doing?
Pay no attention to it and just laugh. It's the bitter mutterings of LOSERS. The reasonable among their fanbase are embarrassed by it.
