That title now belongs to Windows 7.
Finally! Windows XP no longer most popular desktop system - CNN.com
To me, the shocking thing is seeing exactly how much dominance Microsoft has in the industry. According to the article, MS holds 92% of the market. I knew they had the most by a large margin, but I didn't realize it was that high.

I feel like schools using majority apple products would bring it a tad closer to the corporate world of MS but 42% to 2% isn't even close lol

Not surprising at all really. Windows 7 is actually pretty damn solid.

Surprised it wasn't vista

the surprising thing is that even with Vista's overwhelming reputation as a crappy OS, it's still got a bigger market share than Apple.

Pretty surprised people don't want to pay 1600 bucks for a photoshop machine.

Win 7 doesn't suck...but Win 8 is basically 1000% tablet designed

I wouldn't be surprised if the tile home screen goes away for desktops and laptops. There is a design very similar to W7 in it, but to have to select a button to get to it. If this were the home screen I doubt I would mind it as much.

But, since W7 is so stable and does what I want, why change? Don't fix what's not broke.
