I arrived on campus an Iowa fan. I would've never worn an Iowa shirt and it sure didn't take me long to convert. Wearing a rival shirt on campus is Webster's definition of ****** bag.

No the defination clearly states something about just being a hokeye fan as being a d-bag!

Honestly, i don't have a huge problem with an Iowa fan wearing an Iowa shirt on campus to class or anything. If i'd gone to iowa i can guarantee i would've likely done the same. If you're going to stay in-state, depending on your major sometimes you don't have a whole lot of choice as to where you're going.

Now at the stadium on a non-iowa week? Thats a different story. I wouldn't go to an Iowa game not involving ISU and wear ISU clothing (i'd go neutral or pick up some of the other team's gear). I dont know why so many hawks love to come to ISU games decked in hawk gear.

love this. i make it a point of letting ppl on campus know how i feel about them wearing hawkeye stuff around, but it probably doesn't quite have the same effect as a 6-2 244lb linebacker with long hair saying it

This. period. It's not a students fault if they, for examples, love Cyclone sports but wanna be a doctor and go to Iowa or if a Hawk sports fan wanted to be an engineer so they went to Iowa State. So your gonna wear it around campus from time to time.

However - on a week where ISU and Iowa aren't playing it just makes you look like a DBAG to wear your teams stuff at the other team's tailgate or game. it just shows your obsession with ONLY that team. there is no other way around it. I would never wear ISU gear in Iowa City for Purdue vs. Iowa. Granted I would never wanna go to that anyway, but still...

I also could tell most of the people in hawk clothes in Ames this past saturday looked like they just came from Wal-Mart...and never attended a university of any kind.

Its a school. The football team are FELLOW students representing YOUR SCHOOL. Your DEGREE will say IOWA STATE. What kind of idiot cheers AGAINST their school? I am with AK. It would be like growing up in Ankeny, then moving to Ames for high school but cheering against Ames for 4 years. Lame.

If I was an ISU fan and wanted to become a doctor and I went to Iowa, I would instantly become an Iowa fan. All previous allegiance is lost IMO.

Unless you go to a FCS, DIV II/III, school, you should drop your previous allegiance no matter what, mainly because it is OK to have a bigger program to follow (you guys call them tavern fans but w/e).

I went to UNI and wore an ISU shirt to classes all the time. My wife did the same when she was at UNI.

If I had gone to Iowa (and I strongly considered it), I'd be a Hawkeye.
