When you start buying everyone's tickets, then you can tell everyone when they can leave. Until then, it doesn't really matter.

Aside from the fact that you are a fan of two of the most bandwagon franchises in sports...
I fully support your statement.

You mean the students all got up and left early???

What?? What's that you say?? The old timers who "know what Hilton should be like" started to leave from the Parquet at the 3:30 mark?

That's funny, if you read any of the other 4 game threads here you would swear they were standing and screaming the whole game.

What a joke this board is sometimes when it comes to students and whether they are "loud enough" or not. A lot of these kids were in Elementary or Junior High the last time we were relevant.

I totally agree with the OP. How would ya'll feel if that last 3:30 the 5 on the floor just packed it up and quit?? Same concept, its a team effort out there. It rarely happens elsewhere. Whether you leave 20 mins early or not, it will still take the same amount of time to leave Hilton Coliseum. Same thing happened against Texas, players are walking off looking at a 2/3rds empty arena. Thats what is pathetic about this whole deal....

Win some games and the students will be crazy, not the other way around. Some of you (not all, but some) people around here need to grow up.

End rant.

So True. I get sick of all the bashing of the student section. The rest of the crowd can barely stand more than 30 seconds. It seems like when we get momentum and the crowd stands up, it is so loud in hilton, then the opposing team hits a shot and everyone but the students sits down and goes back to being quiet. Well shame on you. At least the students that come are cheering. I'd rather have a smaller amount of students that are yelling and screaming than to have a crowd full of old people sitting on their hands and getting angry when the person in front of them stands up to cheer. Ugh

End Rant.

A lot of people were leaving with 3+ minutes left. It's their right but why come to the game? I can understand if we are getting blown out but it was not decided by any means.

Wow let me get this straight. Now I have to get permission from CF folks to leave a basketball game? I also must stand when expected and yell appropriately to meet CF criteria? I don't think so. I will do what I want when I want regardless of what you all say. I give big bucks to ISU and feel no need to live up to your wishes. I think JP and FH appreciate the support I give.

Until you stop giving it to go home early.

What are you thinking? You are not a true fan unless you stay for an hour after the game is over. Only then can you start thinking about leaving the building. First though, you have to get on your phone and check this site to see if the people starting threads like this give you permission to leave.

That's a good idea. We need to elect one super fan to create an official "It's ok to leave the game now" thread for every game, with proper asterisks and capitalization of course.

I think our fan base needs to take some courses on how to crowd properly. We appear to have conflicting crowding philosophies which is unacceptable. Crowding is most fun when everyone crowds the same way. If you're crowding skills aren't up to CF standards prepare to be shunned.

I think CW should offer up the official CF crowding guide, and use coupons as a positive reinforcement for proper crowding behavior.

For my brilliant idea, I also expect to be rewarded with a generous credit stimulus package. In my world, it's only fair.

These threads telling the fans what they need to be doing always crack me up.

The irony is, we have the best fanbase in the nation given our level of success.

Ok, I understand that you give "big bucks" and I appreciate that. But why would you pay big bucks just to leave a game we could still win?

If I payed $50 to watch a movie, I'm not leaving right before the big climax.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me and others here.

Can you shed some light on it for us?

If I pay $1.50 for a Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper, I'll barely throw a drop away.
With my $99 tickets in the top row, I'm not throwing minutes away.

If I gave "big bucks" (and I do, in grad student $), I wouldn't leave until the band escorted me out. I figure I'm paying for the whole game, and I'll suffer the whole time if I have to.

That's not everyone, and everyone makes their own decision, but that's my decision. Now back to judging.....

To me, the thing that stinks is how noticable it is. Seems like the expensive coartside seats are the ones that empy the quickest. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if only the balconies jumped ship.

It looks horrible on TV. It literally looks like we were losing by 30. Noone can talk smack about Carver Hawkeye if we can't stick around to watch a few more minutes of a hotly contested game at Hilton.

I'm curious just how much time is saved by leaving with 33 seconds left.

I really want the student section moved to the courtside seats. It would make our fanbase look much rowdier on TV.

Not calling you out Rodestr, but this right here is the problem. CA is not the problem.

This attitude "I donate much more money than the students do so I dont need to go crazy. But the fact that they arent has ruined Hilton Magic! Abolish CA!"

Its a team effort people. If the old and rich on the sides are not loud and CA is, or vise versa, we dont scare anyone. ITS A TEAM EFFORT. QUIT WORRYING ABOUT OTHERS AND DO YOUR PART! When that happens, the Magic will be back.

When I buy a pop I take one drink and then throw it away and immediately yell to all that will listen "I PAID FOR THAT POP AND I'LL DO WHAT I WANT!"
