I went all in on my credits to cover the 8.5. Turned on the radio with 5 minutes to go were up 20, no problem. then we can't make a free throw and the now were up 8. I was ready to poop. You have to close this out better than that.

I'm ****** that we didn't bury little brother by 35+. We are certainly 35 points better in talent.

I love it. I love it. I love it. Let's start referring to those condescending ******** the same way.

Yep if we're going to run clock like that we need to make our free throws and play tough defense on the other end.

We would've won by more, but this is their biggest game of the year, and we didn't really try the 2nd half.

So far I would agree and that prediction might be optimistic right now but this team still could get a lot better. We just aren't there yet right now, but who know by January or February this team could end up being much improved from what they are right now.

All we can do is hope I guess, this team reminds of the '09 team

"big brother" can have that title in this rivalry and can be condescending and call us little brother all they want for all I care. we'll be Eli and they can be Peyton...i don't care what you call them or us just as long as we keep on beating them at sporting events.

another victory in the bag over hawks for the Cyclones. it doesn't have to be pretty, just keep winning!

Iowa is so bad they make us look good.

This team plays defense like a kid treats brussel sprouts. He puts on a good show for the parents but as soon as their backs are turned it goes to the dogs.

Bottom Line IMO: MUCH better passing tonight and much better TEAM performance overall.

Very proud of Bubu too - that kid plays hard, hustles, plays D and can handle the rock. Some people forget that this is the same kid that got most of his assists dishing the ball to Mr. Harrison Barnes in HS. He's kind of a Steve Nash (soccer player) type. The kid gets the game, values the ball, is quick, is tough and just doesn't stop moving.

Big props to Royce for setting the tone tonight. I'm pretty sure 6 of the first 8 points were dunks (3 by RW and 1 by Melvin).

BTW - that pass from Royce to Melvin from half court in the 1st half was SICK. I watched that at least 6 times on the DVR b/c it was such a badass play. A 6' 7" man that can take the ball up the floor and deliver a pass like that is special.

Still work to do, but still a great win.....always a great win over the Hawks. GO CYCLONES!

At no time in the second half was the game in doubt.

Split can be thankful Mizzoulander makes him the second most annoying poster on the board.

Come on man, Iowa plays hard but they just are not talented. ISU fans are ticked off their team is still sleepwalking through huge chunks of the game and Iowa was still never in this thing.

I think it's a big step forward going with Bubu and Allen as the primary ball handlers along with Royce when there's a press.

Scotty def got a little of his mojo back, happy for him.

Bad bad bad enough to pull within 8 with 38 seconds left.

Sorry to tell you, ISU and Iowa aren't that far apart. The 2nd half of the game showed ISU has a lot of weaknesses, and it wasn't a fluke that Iowa got back in the game. Iowa simply started making shots that they were missing in the first half.

As Iowa fans in football said along the line of "ISU hasn't scored a touchdown against the 1st team D in x yrs"......Iowa didn't pull within 20 pts of ISU with them in any doubt or showing any effort.

They play the game 20 times and I think Iowa wins once.

Does it **** anyone else off that the press keeps mentioning that this is our first three-game streak over Iowa "since the 80s"? This stupid comment makes it sound as if we've just been bending over for the Hawks every year, when they haven't had a three-game streak since the 80s either. Why can't the press say it's the first three-game streak for either team since 1990, which is accurate and indicates how great of a rivalry this has been.

If Iowa had just won three in a row against us, I wonder if the press would be talking about "Iowa's first three-game streak against the Cyclones since the 80s"...I really doubt it.

eh, get used to it. We'll hear it at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 wins in a row over them too.

Yup, best of all, different players are stepping up each game lately. Percy was a huge factor in the PVA&M game, but not so much this game. Bubu was a huge factor in this game, but not so much other games. Scotty and Melvin were big factors in this game, but not so much other games. Allen and Babb were factors in this game, but not as much as some other games..... McGee as well...... Royce has been pretty darn solid every game, so he's the exception....

IMO, this team is learning on the fly every game and they are getting better. There are a lot of players that can step up each night, so we finally have some depth and that's very important. As long as everyone plays as a team and sticks to the game plan against each opponent, we'll be just fine.

Nope to busy counting the wins against the Hawks this year. Football, M-bball, and W-bball. I'm pretty sure we beat them in badminton as well.

Sorry to annoy you. Like many here, I defend my favorite team, and look at things with a pretty strong homer bias.

There are a few pieces to the puzzle on the team for the Hawks, but it's just that - a few. I was just pleased with the fact that they didn't give up, kept fighting, and at least made it a little interesting in the 2nd half. Nobody is denying that this wasn't ISU's game from the opening tip, because it was.

In my opinion, the final score ended right about where it should have. ISU isn't 25 points better than Iowa. That doesn't mean I'm saying Iowa is good, or super talented right now, but rather that ISU isn't nearly the beast a lot of posters were hoping for this year. I'd put it right at 10-15 at home, 5-10 at a neutral site, and a push at Carver. Again, just my opinion.

It seems like Ejim handles White's passes better that Gibson down low. Both have shakey hands though.
