Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne said Friday that rival Texas has informed him that the Longhorns don’t have room in their nonconference football schedule for the Aggies at least through 2018.

Good. There is this huge sentiment among sportswriters that Texas should make every effort to continue to play A&M. But I say to hell with A&M. They walked away, and nobody owes them anything. In fact, I think the entire Big 12 should freeze them out of all sports. That's the price you pay for abandoning your league. Can't have it both ways - greener pastures with a new conference and all your old rivalries too.

It takes a lot of gall on Byrne's part to leave the conference the way they did and immediately turn around and petition UT for a non-con game. Some people have no shame.
