Regardless of this, give the police report from his laptop theft a read

Cam Newton, Lame Laptop Thief | The Smoking Gun

Cam Newton is a very, very, very dumb man.

Judoka, that is patently unfair. You should be ashamed of yourself. He obviously only lifted the laptop because his dad's church needed it. Therefore since it went to a christian cause, he should get a pass on that.

So I'm at work now and don't want to go digging around for gambling info here, but does anyone know if the Georgia-Auburn line's been jumping around a lot today? I would think a lot of money was coming in on Georgia with all this suspension talk out there.

It's been pulled off the board in most if not all places.

Yep, rumor gone wild -- and it does have Alabama written all over it. Some people are so easily led. But it does show the power of mass hysteria on Twitter and how the right, well organized group, can sway the masses. If Gene did something wrong, I hope he fry's. Knowing a bit about SEC boosters, I strongly believe that if "Auburn" did anything wrong (which we do not yet know), it was done without any of the coaches having any clue. We all know who drives the bus at Auburn.

Problem is, the guy driving the bus at Auburn is also a trustee of the university. If any of this can be tied back to him, the whole university goes down with him. Lack of institutional control anyone? However, it appears that Lowder is very good about getting his minions to do the actual dirty work, so his tracks are well covered and proving anything will be difficult for the NCAA.

Coaches at AU have always known what was going on when it came to paying players, but most kept their mouths shut since they were probably getting some kickbacks as well. Terry Bowden tried to rock the boat, and they promptly ran him out of town, but not before making him sign a confidentiality agreement.

I believe that's why Chizik was hired at AU. He's very familiar with what's going on there, and he's perfectly willing to turn his back on the whole thing.

They took it off the board.

This right here. Chizdick is just happy to have a job period. Do you really think a guy with his lack of ethics and coaching skills would care if the Auburn boosters bought him some talented players and then in turn it makes him look like he can actually coach? Hell no. Auburn has a very dirty program and it will be satisfying watching them go down in flames. It will just be an added bonus that Chizdick is the coach at the helm of the ship when it goes down.

You may be right. There just isn't enough evidence available for me to draw the same conclusions you are quite yet. I know you hope your right but I really think it's much ado about nothing. Time will tell but in the interim, the bad blood and sour grapes that many cyclone fans have/feel for GC will really fan the flames (and imaginations) on boards like this. I think it is much more likely that Gene is this year's National COY than the Auburn program goes down in flames. We'll find out soon.

What is your deal with Gene Chizik? The guy is a piece of ****. You are a donor, he took your money, did nothing with it, laughed all the way to the bank, and then left this program high and dry. This could not happen a bigger *******.

I would love it if at the end of all this Cam Newton was able to get Florida, Miss St and Auburn all on probation.

If the Netwon's got paid, the only thing Chizik likely could have done is refuse Cam's commitment. In the SEC I imagine it would be hard to put together a class if you refused commitments due to rumors about deals. In that sense, the only Chizik is guilty of is being a head coach of an SEC fanbase.

Is that really how it went down?

Besides the normal feelers about players coming with him (and I do not know how strong that was), the way Chizik left was about as good as it could be for ISU. It did not drag on, and it unified the team.

Sounds like Mississippi State did the right thing and notified the NCAA right away when Cam's daddy tried to sell him. Auburn is going to be neck deep in it and the NCAA is going to go back and start looking at how Florida got him to commit there. This story is just too good to be true. Wouldn't it be nice if Dan McCarney was the guy leaking the Florida story with Cam and his cheating to the media in an effort to take down Chizdick..... the complete loser that replaced him at ISU? :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

He has some kind of strange man-crush on Chizik, which by itself is weird because why would an Iowa State fan love a guy who did so badly with our program than left the Cyclones high and dry? Also, he blamed Paul Clark and Cyclone Report members for Chizik leaving ISU for Auburn (yeah, I know, I don't get it either).

My thing is, I can't remember the last time a potential violation like this has been rumored and turned out to not be true. I'm not saying it will be determined this year, but almost 100 percent of the time in a situation like this, when there's smoke, there's fire, and this thing smoking more than a van in a Cheech and Chong movie.

Did Mississippi St notify the NCAA right after he asked for money or after he committed to Auburn? I doubt they turned it in when they thought they still had a shot at him.

And remember how bad some Auburn alumni wanted Turner Gil??? With the squeaky clean standard he demands of his players, I could see how that courtship never even started...
