Bad Lunch Experience

Today I went downtown to Legends for lunch. There was only 2 of us and we both ordered salads. 40 minutes went by and everyone around us had their food, we we had yet to get ours (people that came after us). So, finally flagged down our waitress and asked about our salads (very nicely). She said something about how the grilled chicken on the salad takes longer....

I let her know I ordered the buffalo chicken on my salad - like buffalo fried strips and my co-worker had a taco salad with schredded chicken. No grilled for either one of us (and grilled chicken does not take long). I was really nice about it considering I was not happy and I have an appoiment at 1:30 I needed to be back for (we got there at 11:45). She said she would check on it.

So, the problem is - we got our salads and then had to flag her down for the check about 20 minutes after that. On our checks there was no $ off for our extensive wait or an I'm sorry from the waitress. I did something that I NEVER do - I didn't tip and wrote a note on the back of the receipt saying that our salads took 40 minutes.

To top it off, a guy sitting near us sent his steak back and when his bill was brought to him HIS (not he same) waitress gave him $2.00 for the steak being wrong.

As a former waitress myself, I know I can be a little more critical of waiteress/waiters than some people, but in this case, I think I had a right to be a little upset with the situation.

This may rival the Hamilton's dad thread before all is said and done, I wanted to get in on the ground floor. Carry on.

I'm assuming she put the order in. And I'm assuming she'd check the windows. If she was nice about it, it's the kitchen's fault and expecting the waitress to dip into her tips is probably too much. Moral of the story is to not order salad.

I went to a brewery out in West Des Moines called Rock Bottom. After I was done eating they brought me a bill and charged me .98 cents on me and my wifes Cherry Cokes and told us they charged us for the Cherry. No joke.

I didn't want to say anything about this, but I cant keep quiet any longer. A few weeks ago I went to Burger King because I was craving a Whopper. When I got there, they informed me that there was a shortage of tomatoes for reason beyond their control, and that my Whopper would not include the usual tomatoes.

I joking asked "how much money are you taking off for that" and the kid laughed at me. I was so outraged, that I decided to get my money back on that tomato by pumping more ketchup than I usually do from the dispenser.

I just want to let everyone know so they no longer eat at Burger King. We together can take these bastards down for giving me a bad experience!

Wait, wait, wait...youre telling me that getting upset about crappy service is not limited to just teachers? Don't write an email about it and say what your profession is, people may just boycott you!

The guy that owns Legends murdered a teacher in cold blood at the down town location, where have you been?

In the Quad Cities for the last 7 years - probably why I didn't get the reference...

But thanks, makes a hell of a lot more sense now
