Exactly. Rules are rules and if they allow clubs from before 1990 then it's legal. Nuff said, end of discussion. If the other golfers wanna complain they can go on ebay and buy their own set of 1990 vintage Ping clubs.

I agree. He is not cheating. All other Tour players can do the exact same thing he is doing. The rules of golf allow what he is doing and that is all that matters.

There are a lot of tour players trying to find those old Pings. If you have some, they're worth a lot more right now on ebay.

The PGA is the one to blame on this, not Mickelson. They made the rules with too much "Gray" area. And with how competitive the game is, they (PGA) have to expect players will take advantage of any opportunity for a competitive edge that they can.

I'm surprised at the reaction of a few of the other players, pretty harsh!

Just because a player is sponsored by a club company doesn't mean they play all of their clubs. All of the clubs in Tiger's bag aren't always Nike.
Ping should cut Phil a check for all this publicity.

I had heard before that Nike paid Mizuno some insane amount of money to make Tiger's clubs and put the "swoosh" on it, before the Victory Red's came out which Tiger uses now.
