this was what I was afraid of. I believe that CPR will get the job done. Give him time to get the talent.

hey, i thought the classes chiz brought in were the best talent we'd ever seen? now we are talentless?

I'm not sure if calling Iowa average is really making people feel better as we got woodshedded by that team...

Iowa won the game by a much bigger margin than they are good. Turnovers, penalties and play calling right into their hands.... That is the reason why the score was as bad as it could have been. The teams are more or less evenly matched. Iowa is just not that good. I will be surprised if they win many this year.

I think ISU receivers are a little overrated by fans, but Hamilton would certainly be in the mix. Franklin too. I'm sure there are quite a few more.
I didn't know that "overrated" was a synonym for "injured".

Based on what, exactly? Perhaps, these guys we think are so great just are not so stellar.

We've yet to see it, even the potential of great play from this unit.
...in the second game under a new coordinator, against a defense generally among the best (and, most especially, fundamentally sound) in the country. I'll give them more time before any definitive pronunciations.

I was disappointed, but every week will be more improvement. Time to move on and smack Kent around some.

Excuse, excuse and more excuses. Nothing new here.

If this unit is supposedly as good as we keep hearing about, they should be able to match up with this "awesome" defense Iowa has.

There was no improvement made on offense from week 1 to week 2.

Oh, and one last thing, we HAVE to learn how to hit AND wrap. We have a lot of people good at the first part, but we NEED to learn how to wrap up when you lay the hit.

Actually I agree right now we are not very good and we need improvement in more than a few areas before conference play starts. The only thing that gives me some hope is that we tend to steadily improve as the season goes on. I said 7-5 at the start of the season and I still think we can do that.

It's obvious that Iowa decided that controlling ISU's passing attack was the key to the game. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of questions about how we adjusted (or didn't) to that, but the turnovers were just killers. Perhaps if ISU had shifted their focus to the run game, it could have been closer, but they seemed to be doing that to come out in the 2nd half and the fumble by Robinson made it a different story.

Overall, I don't think the offense will have another day this bad all year, and the defense was a lot better than I thought they'd be until they clearly wore down late. Oh well, on to the next week.

Seven wins would be amazing. I think that every win will be tough to get. I was really surprised at how bad our passing game was today. The running game was good and the D was good until the 4th where it was obvious that they were beaten down. Coaching was horrible.

The scary thing is that I have basically been hearing this since I started following ISU in 1993.

When Chiz brought in a bunch of players from Florida and Texas a lot of people deluded themselves into believing anyone from Florida or Texas had to be great. Unfortunately, that is not true. Other than Sed Johnson who we got from A&M, Chiz' got most of his out-of-state talent by winning recruiting battles against Conference USA and Sun Belt conference schools. I believe his recruiting was overrated by many fans.

God, I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I actually see 7 or 8 wins on the Hawks schedule. 2 wins already. Arkansas State, Indiana, and Minnesota at home are gimmes, that's 5. At Penn St. and at tOSU are losses. Arizona, Michigan, and Northwestern I haven't seen enough of to make a call, but judging Michigan State's loss to Central Michigan today and Wisconsin's near-loss to Fresno St., they're both down. Take 2 of those last 5 and they're at 7 wins.

The Hawks did what they had to do today, they executed. We didn't, and 6 turnovers makes for ****-poor football.

And I believe that everything, from Jamie Pollard on down, is underrated by you.

The players from Chiziks classes are largely redhsirt freshmen and sops, especially the better latter clas. They have tons of time to show what they can do.

Yeah your right....the only thing that improved this week was throwing passes to guys in white jerseys!!!!!!!

I can just see Kent licking their chops when they see this offense on film!!!!!

This post makes absolutely no sense. Jamie Pollard wasn't on the field or sidelines today. Just give it a rest if it's not relevant. We get it, you don't like him.
