Because the Krush group has been getting away with this for so long, that they actually believed it was okay. Kind of like someone telling a lie enough times that they now believe it to be true.

I don't see any issues with it. No one is getting hurt here. They raise money for the B&G clubs, why shouldnt they be able to purchase tickets at the same rate?

The teams and the fans clearly don't like each other based on what we've seen in the past.
So we as neutral observers need to score this properly.

Iowa gets 1 point for the next level pettiness of cancelling it 3 days before the game. An additional point for then turning around and giving the tickets to an actual B&G Club. They can achieve additional points if they recognize the group during the game... and a flat out KO if they present them with a game ball on the floor during a timeout.

On the other side Illinois is getting 1 point for its arena taking a run at a random fan and using the term "Cuckholt." They will be deducted both points however for getting out foxed by ******* Gary Barta.

So in summary, Barta:
1. Found out the loser Illinois fans lied about being a charity to get cheap tickets
2. Cancelled their fraudulent tickets, keeping them out of Carver this weekend
3. Baited them into making a public statement about it
4. Immediately showed the receipts AND helped out a REAL Iowa charity instead

Barta sucks, but pulled off a masterclass tonight
I heard that the B and GC of Cedar Rapids turned around and sold them back to the Orange Krush for a killing.

It’s a shame for the few businesses that will miss out on a great night of sales.

So next year, why not a group of Ames businesses band together and purchase a block of 200 for the IA - IlL game and sell them to Orange Krush for a profit and then donate the proceeds to WeWill? Everyone benefits that way.

Orange Krush need to pull the same stunt next year in Iowa City. If the Iowa AD does the same, they should claim they were fundraising for the Cedar Rapids Boys and Girls Club for tickets to a basketball game. Make the AD eat 200 tickets

Barta messed up on 2 fronts:

1) Once you found out the tickets were purchased under the guise of a charity, make them pay the difference.

2) Waiting until 3 days before the game do act, was pure bush league. You can't tell me Barta did not know about this until yesterday.
Not to mention the optics of a millionaire AD dropping the hammer on college students who raised the money through charitable acts.

Not seeing it... but the wiki leads off with this:

Orange Krush AKA Girls club of central Illinois

They have donated more than 2 mil to local charities and the V foundation since 98. Ya I am biased but I dont agree with what they did here.

Gorm

With any luck we will be there by Tuesday.

Sure sounds like Big 10 ADs have been aware of this group for a while now. Also explains why the Kursh folks try to deceive people into selling them tickets.
