Just speculation here, but with Tony Bennet leaving WSU, there's a pretty fair chance that Xavier Thames will decommit from WSU. If he does, I'd like to see us use Eik's scholarship on him.

Does ISU ever not have a chance with possible recruits? Every name I ever see, it's, "We have a very good chance, but I don't know what our scholly situation is."

I think he signed with WSU so a lot of red tape to ge through and he is not great. I think you take a chance with a superstar with red tape.

Let's go after Xavier Henry and Demarcus Cousins from Memphis. I am sure they will de-commit after John Calipari takes Kentucky job :)

Imagine that, every recruit you see talked about on a website you post on called Cyclone Fanatic is usually about them possibly coming to Iowa State...You are right, we should post about guys we have no chance of getting or have no interest in...?

I could find more examples of threads on here about recruits ISU has no chance in or no interest in. My point was simply that no matter who the recruit, or whether anybody had heard of him before, ISU is automatically "in" on this guy, and has a great shot.

My point was not that there are NO threads about guys we aren't interested in, because I know there are ones on this site - you didn't need to point them out. I am just wondering if you think that is all we need on here and to become solely a recruiting website (not necessarily an ISU fan-speculation about recruiting website) and we could cover a plethora of recruits we have no interest in and nothing more. I guess I just don't get what you expect from here. What is really wrong with this thread about Xavier Thames? I don't get your beef with it or what Iowa State fans think about their chances with him. Of course this stuff is all opinion at this point.

That's not what I'm saying, and this isn't a bash on ISU, because I know Iowa fans do it. Maybe if my username was NeutralSportsFan this point would better come across. My point is, again, that anytime a new name is posted, instead of comments like, "So what are our chances?" It's, "I predict he'll be a Cyclone within a few weeks...." or "So, this is our lineup next year assuming he commits...."

Yes, I know. Iowa fans do this. But remember, everybody on here makes fun of Iowa fans for assuming that all high profile recruits will suit up in a Hawkeye jersey.

We are not the only ones. I was on a hawk board this morning reading about how they thought they could get Darius Smith.

Where, in the posts above your post, was it stated that we had a good chance with Thames? Do you make crap up in order to argue with us?

Sometimes, yes, because it's easy. But not this time.

If he does, I'd like to see us use Eik's scholarship on him.

Maybe I'm missing something, but "let's use somebody's scholly on him" says to me, "if we want him, he's ours."

Where are you getting that?

Here is the direct quote.

I'd like to see us use Eik's scholarship on Lebron James. Doesn't mean we have a shot. Doesn't mean he is interested. Doesn't mean anything. It's a hypothesis, pure an simple.

You just misquoted him to support your argument. Don't be so freaking stupid...as if it's a choice.
