I'll admit to living a pretty spoiled childhood. My dinners were filled with ice cream, pretzel dogs, and when I felt a little fancy some Chicken Cordon Bleu cooked in the microwave. That PB and Chocolate ice cream had huge PB chunks. Maybe I need to get them to start delivering. Just looked at prices.....Yowsa. No wonder my dad had to drive 100k miles a year in the semi to pay for his fat kids Schwans habbit.

A bagel dog, raspberry push-up and a mini pizza was a pretty standard meal for me.

Oof. Has anyone gotten Schwan's food recently? We used to have their classic crust pepperoni pizzas in our freezer at all times. But they changed the recipe and it's truly, not even joking, one of the worst frozen pizzas I've ever had. Just ******* awful.

I grew up on Schwan’s. Rural Iowa, I thought it was some kind of delicacy. I couldn’t stomach any of it now, I think.

Funny this came up as I was just talking about this with friends over the weekend. I thought they rebranded to Yelloh but no one had heard of it and everyone was saying they still see Schwan’s trucks (not Yelloh) trucks on the road. So I looked at their website and everything is still Schwan’s branded and their site says they are transitioning to Yelloh.

What rebrand takes 18 months??

Schwan's started in Marshall, Minnesota. My grandfather helped the company expand to its first warehouse sometime in the late 50s/early 60s.

A good friend of mine is the CFO, so I’m sure our next conversation will be fun for her!

They we’re recently purchased by a South Korean company, so maybe there is a translation problem in marketing.
Reminds me when UrbanSpoon sold out to an Italian company, became Zomato, and promptly died away.

Their individual pizzas were good but that was more than 20 years ago.

I used up our $ rewards or whatever they called it just before the final date to do so - maybe end of May?
Over the years they stopped offering so many of the things we liked. I have no desire to order anything again - overpriced and no email correspondence provided for quite awhile. I don’t have time to “chat” with someone on their schedule.

I have absolutely no idea how they’ve stayed in business. I guess they could have pivoted to be a version of the different packaged ingredients box food services you see now, but even that’s a stretch.

Haven’t had Schwans since I was a kid. The whole point of Schwan's was its conveniance and its quality. It was a little more expensive but it was usually better than the frozen stuff you'd get at the store. There are tons of ways to get groceries delivered now, so if the quality has gone down may as well just shut it down.

Should have shut down when they discontinued pizza burgers.

Their hot pockets were so much better than the real hot pockets.

Agree. Is it just me or do marketers seem to way overthink things too often?

You don't HAVE to do something (change your name) just to do something. Why change your brand name if you don't need to? Everyone knows who Schwan's is.... nobody knows who Yelloh, or whatever the F their new name is?

Will this be their new logo on the side of their trucks???

Going to be sued by Trump, that’s his logo.

Still true. Haven’t seen any drop in quality on the items we buy.
