No, not another weather thread. This means that the snarky debates with the wannabe weathermen will start over.

Last night’s, combined with the side piles from the previous snow, were a little too much for the 4 wheeler today. Was able to get enough of a pass to allow a car to get out, but no chance of clearing more to make the run up feasible. Had to bring in the big guns (truck with blade), and now it looks “OK”. Another round though, and I may just hole up until spring.

Went to the gym this morning at 5 and the temp in the car said 25. Came out an hour later and it was 15 and the winds had picked up significantly. Can't imagine what it is like in the rural areas today.

I have a little bit of space left in front of my house to pile snow so bring it on!

My yard is getting somewhat close to the point where it was a few years ago. I shoveled at that time, and it was a pain in the ass lifting the new stuff up and over the cliff. Also hard to get out of my driveway, as I'm on a fairly busy street, and it's slightly uphill to the west. You had to watch for the tops of cars and then hope.

Next week temps looks like they will suck as well. Our mild winter weather has certainly changed here the last couple weeks.

The snow tomorrow is cool/interesting to me. With it as cold as it will be it is looking like the snow ratio will be 20-25:1 with a forecast QPF (basically available precipitable water) of 0.1". So a tenth of an inch of rain equaling 1-2 inches of snow.

So its going to be a grower not a shower?

schools letting out early. Some only gave parents a 30 min notice. That is how quickly things are turning bad. Also west of des moines around the new waukee exit there are cars everywhere in the ditch. sheet of ice in many places on the interstate around the metro
