It's already snowing in north Iowa. I'm pretty sure I'll be pushing snow for a good while on Saturday AM.

Same for me this morning. I think it's just an isolated small deal today that should stop soon - the actual storm moves in tomorrow afternoon.

We have been lucky so far this winter and are definitely due.

Overnight runs now that the storm is on shore did speed up arrival time a bit.
Probably more like the PM commute in Des Moines now, 4 or 5 PM for start time.

Totals still holding pretty widespread in the 4 to 6 with smaller pockets of 8+

Things still looking ok to leave from DSM to ames for the game on Saturday?

Fake News? I dont think so NAM is getting stronger now that the storm is on shore.

It will be dicey. Lots of wind will make roads slick and white out conditions

The forecast seems to be downplaying the wind. What are you basing this on?!?

Agreed. I have some buddies that like to ride snowmobile in Cresco's annual snowmobile fest, and that's this coming weekend. NE IA could have a foot of snow on the ground by then, and those guys might actually get to do something. Doesn't bother me in the least to see some normal weather.

Planning on heading from the quad cities to Des Moines after work tomorrow, am I gonna have a bad time? Should I take a half day and leave early? Or leave tonight and work remote tomorrow?

looking like nam model a bit overdone. nws for des moines saying 4-6 most of the state with east central iowa being closer to 6. at this point i would go with nws.
