Who do you WANT to play in the NCAA tourney?

Round-of-32, I want the biggest pushover available. :smile:
If Iowa State secures a 3 seed, I would embrace a matchup with the following potential 2 seeds, assuming Cyclones advanced to Sweet 16:
Duke. Low-risk/high-reward. (a) Comparison of program prominence is almost win-win, plus (b) More-prominent program has higher seed and is "expected" to advance anyway. Beating Duke in closely-seeded regional semifinal — think of that.
Villanova. Less-daunting than a rematch with Michigan.
Virginia. D-1 rankings: Points per game: 286th; Rebounds per game: 121st; Assists per game: 123rd; FG%: 130th. A Hoiberg team vs. that? Like!
Wisconsin. UW could give ISU problems in style-of-play clash, but this is addition-by-subtraction: I like the possibility that Wisconsin won't even be there by the second weekend, falling victim to 7/10 upset. Potential perpetrators: Kentucky, Gonzaga, Oregon, Memphis, Stanford. On second thought, maybe I'd rather just face Wisconsin ...

Beyond sweet 16, if that materializes — I want to face whatever giants are still standing.

As a 3 seed, we knock of 14 seed Wofford in Round 2.

Final 4 time. #1 overall seed Florida is too much for ISU. We keep it close for 30 minutes, but we eventually tire out and lose by 11 in a hard fought game.

That's funny. I had a dream last night where we beat Wichita State for the national title. That was after we knocked off Kansas in the final 4. Can't remember who beat beat in the previous rounds. Oh yes, and we beat Okie State to get to the conference title game (which we lost) with a 3 at the buzzer by..........
Who'd you have beating us in the B12 final? I'm gonna bet heavy on your dream/hunch.

Why do you want to be a 4, when we're lined up for a 3?
Just a curiosity question, nothing more.
Well I'm still not convinced that we will get a 3 seed even though Lunardi is predicting it. Of course a 3 would be better than a 4, but I think how we match up with whatever team we are paired against is more important than our seed anyways.
I would like to see us play against SMU and see Fred coach against Larry Brown. That could be an interesting game...

North Dakota State would be nice. If for no other reason, it may force lakebison to stop rambling on about a game 6 months away.
