The NCAA has more pressing matters to deal with. Like Asston Kutcher :pbaffled:

Are they going to rule on it before the season starts on Friday? It is pretty unfair to Hoiberg.

I would think he could play this Friday regardless, because its not a real game. However, if he is going to be out all year there is no reason to waste minutes on him, especially with all the newcomers who will need minutes as fast as they can get them.

How is that incorrect? If the ******* NCAA can't rule on it in time, then the poor kid should be able to play. That is a bunch of horse **** if you ask me.

because he's a transfer, so he has to sit out a year UNLESS the NCAA waives that. Doesn't matter that he didn't play last year.

Well if its as easy as all you guys say then they should be able to look at the paper work and rule it with in a couple minutes now couldn't they?

It does make you curious as to the order the NCAA looks at files. Do they go by date each claim is submitted? Do they go by order of program historical significance? (i.e. does Kentucky get rulings first?) Do they go in alphabetical order of player?

We actually need him to play this year. It'll help this team THIS year alot. Royce is going to stay for 2011 no matter what. He knows how good that team has the potential to be. It'd be nice for him to get a year of playing time under his belt.

Because it's the correct interpretation of the rules?

How fair or unfair you think something is doesn't change the fact that without a positive ruling, he is bound by the standard NCAA transfer rule and sits out a year.

This will sound worse than it should but nobody is asking you. Or me, for that matter.

He's not eligible to play this year until told otherwise. It's that simple.

The easy part is that he can't play. The hard part is determining if that can be overturned. I agree that it can't be as hard as the timeline suggests.

Where they love the governor
I've pretty much assumed that he will be ineligible this year based on our history with the NCAA and these kinds of ruling. As to why it takes so long, they probably need to see if they can find a booster to pony up with some perks to get the kid eligible or not.
