The writing is phenomenal. Some of those songs I feel in my bones. They quietly dropped it. So damn good.

Leaving Town really gets me on a lot of levels. The writing is phenomenal. Some of those songs I feel in my bones.
I don't play. I just think when Gilmour plays he gives the guitar a soul in a way I don't think any others can. It's not necessarily about the complexity of what he's playing. Lots of others can play the same notes. And there are others who can probably play with more complexity. That's why I love his quote in that video... "It's not about playing fast or being flashy, it's about making every note count."I’ll have to watch that. I love Gilmour, but it seems like he’s a pretty controversial pick always when it comes to best guitarists ever. He seems to be considered “overrated” by many.
I think his “style” of playing is what really sets him apart. But I am definitely no expert…. I can barely even play a guitar.
Been enjoying this again recently... such an amazing song. It has quiet parts, jams near the end, and absolutely amazing vocals.
I'm not a jam band guy, but they work for me. Saw them in Waukee and they were great.I think I finally get Goose
Yes, that really sucks.Anybody hear about Brad Arnold from 3 Doors Down being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer?
EXACTLY! Music is an art form, and everyone will have their own personal tastes, but for me anyway, I don’t particularly enjoy someone just playing a guitar as fast as they possibly can…. yeah it’s impressive as hell…. but it doesn’t bring any emotional feelings out of me at all. Some guitarists can just make a guitar “cry” or like you said “give it a soul”.I don't play. I just think when Gilmour plays he gives the guitar a soul in a way I don't think any others can. Gilmour just brings an emotion to his sound that's unreal.
