I have two. Seeing "the Run" live! It was awesome!
Second is a more lengthy moment. The year is 1999 and I am a freshman at ISU. My buddy is visiting and we were running late to the game. ISU was taking on the purple kitties that day, and as my buddy and I are entering the stadium, a guy from Apple Jacks approached with a box of mouse pads. He said they had been giving them away but since the game was about to start could we take them into the stadium and pass them out in the student section for him. We said sure. The purple kitties were were ranked 15th, ISU was 3-0 and in the first half ISU was giving them the business. Since my buddy and I were late, we went directly to the upper deck of the student section. On the way up we passed out mouse pads in mass. When ISU scored their first TD, something unexpected happened. Those apple shaped Apple Jack mouse pads well they were excellent frisbees. And when the ISU player crossed the goal line a flood of mouse pads rained down on lower level of the student section. It was at this point my buddy and I determined we better leave the evidence (the box) behind and move somewhere else in the student section. On the second TD more mouse pads rained down on the lower level and some reached the cheerleaders in front of the student section. This happened on the next two TDs as well. Unfortunately ISU gave up 35 unanswered second half points and lost 35-28. But I will always remember being responsible for one of the coolest TD celebrations in ISU history. Well it was cool for me, maybe not those that got hit with mouse pads, or the grounds crew who had to pick all them up.
