yeah, no doubt. no stores to buy stuff from. things would be so much different than they are now - and guys who say "they can hunt and grow stuff"......yeah, ok. I assume now that you buy seed and that you buy ammo, that you buy gas to get from point a to point b, that you buy the vast majority of your food, etc., etc.

like this poster says - hopefully you know how to slit a deer's throat.

A. Yes I buy seed now because it is easier - I do know how to put aside a certain amount for next year's planting if needed.

B. I actually have enough ammo and supplies to reload that I could survive for quite a while without ever buying another shell (do not let me wife know).

C. Where I live I can walk to all of my food sources (fields, rivers, lakes, woods). If I did not have a car the horse will work.

D. For those of you interested in trying to steal from me in this scenario - be sure to have your box picked out before you come. I do not shoot to wound in such a scenario.

It would not be quite as devastating as an EMF going off over the U.S.

Would I betray my engineering background if I were to say the electrical device would have to be ON for an EMP to destroy the electronics?

My bad, YOU da man!

Do you think humans are the only living creatures affected by this emp stuff? Everything else lives, we die? i don't honestly know, i didn't bother reading the sqauk's link.

I could survive without technology and would actually prefer it. However in this case, it would suck, because people would panic and there would be lawlessness. It would be hard to protect my family. Food would be scarce within weeks and people would kill for it. I think our society today is not built for any mass tragedy. We have become too self centered.

I am not confident the rest of the world would bail us out. Some may offer assistance, but whoever did this would leave our door wide open to conquer us and quickly take control. They would probably threaten other nations to cease assistance.

Now, Tom Cruises bunker doesnt sound too bad does it?
