What happened on the last play?

You can rag on Purdy, but before you do, remember that without him, we would be struggling for winning seasons.
You could say the same for Manning.

Football is the ultimate team game, from the coaches to the players. No one person is responsible for an entire game or season. Good or bad. There's no reason to say a replacement for Purdy wouldn't be better, or that a replacement for Manning wouldn't be worse. The best thing for CFB success is continuity. Both for players and coaches.

Robins, Iowa
Just a lot of stuff going on and none of it good on that series. 2 procedure penalties in a row put ISU behind the sticks. Got 9 of it back on second down, and then the play came in late from the sideline and the spy for OU made a great play to force Purdy to not get enough on the throw. Yes he could have throw the ball away, or they could have called a TO, but that was 3rd down, leaving you with 4th and 11 at the 35 with very little time left, or 3rd and 11 with no TOs and the ball at the 35. In retrospect the TO would have been the best choice, but imagine if Purdy had gotten off a decent pass? I like Hutchinson in a jump ball situation. Seems like Hutchinson was pretty slow to react to the pass also.

Unfortunately when you are down to the last few seconds more time than often bad things will happen.

BTW, after rewatching it, Dylan S. was wide open running down the middle of the field and would have gotten 20 yards easy.

Purdy is great and the best QB we’ve ever had. But he also tries to do too much at times. This was one of those times.
I completely agree. But his gambler attitude has won us games as well. Gotta take his good with the bad. Hopefully next year, he learns from this and maximizes his good and minimizes his bad.

Jesus people. We still have a at shot at a NY 6.
It's totally ok for people to be upset that we fell short of winning a Big 12 title. Good God people with your type of take are just as bad as the ones not realizing we still had a hell of a season and can hopefully still play in a NY6 game. But it doesn't take away the fact we had an opportunity to do something we've all never seen today and just came up short. And this wasn't a Big 12 North scenario where we would have just got destroyed by OU or Texas. This was a game we absolutely could have won, so it just stings. Let people deal with it how they want to.

It's totally OK to be disappointed and sad.

It's not totally OK to be angry and viscous towards the players and coaches.

I'll be interested to hear some post game questions about it. Taking the TO there isn't ideal but it obviously isn't the worst thing either. Really want to know why it took so long to get the play in. Calling the play might be on Manning but not calling the TO is on CMC.
At the time of the game with over a minute and inside OU territory plus it being 3rd and long, it's best to take the timeout and get yourself organized. Different story if we were on our own 25 or something. We had over a minute to play with and inside OU territory, so burn that thing in that situation.

Fun fact people can do whatever the heck they like. Do I personally think people should be lashing out at players especially? No. But unless they are sending them direct messages on Twitter or something like that, what is said on a message board isn't going to be seen by any of them.

And it's completely ok to be angry at coaches. Those guys are getting paid a crap ton of money to make big decisions. No different than a CEO making a decision that now causes you to pay double the shipping costs on something. The players are off limits, but criticizing the staff is fair game. Again don't send them anything direct, but you can be pissed about not giving these men the best chance to win at the end there.

Eh, I'm fine if the people who own this board decide posters shouldn't be doing that to players, and then choose delete the posts and then ban the posters.

confusion coupled with purdy trying to do too much. if purdy stays within what he and the team can do, he is excellent. when he forces things it goes downhill fast. he didnt have to win the game on that play. he also didnt have to push so hard on the interception after the campbell rant. There is a fine line between giving it your all and trying to do too much. its a line a lot of great athletes struggle with.

Correct and that is their right as site owners to do that too. I am cool with that decision. I am just not a big fan of telling other people what to do with their emotions because I am not in their mind and I don't know how they feel. As long as you aren't doing anything illegal or cyber bullying (because that is a thing that should be illegal) it is what it is. It's great if people can let things roll with the punches, but not everyone is cut that way and it's not as easy as saying, "Hey just control your thoughts and emotions." Most people look back and regret stupid posts. I have had many of them myself.

Although I have been in the political forums and it's ironic you say people shouldn't be attacking others. That's pretty rich from you based on some comments in the political forum to others that may not agree with you. And I am on the political side you appear to be for.

I’d bet my ******* life that you and people like you are tweeting the same ugly things at the players and program. So save your “it’s ok to do on a message board” bull **** for someone else.
