Here's a release from Iowa State that will hopefully help threads with this question from popping up later in the week.

AMES, Iowa – Saturday’s Texas Tech at Iowa State football game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. in Jack Trice Stadium, will televised on Fox College Sports. The following is information on where to watch FCS.

DirecTV Channel 623 for the game this Saturday.

Mediacom Ames/Des Moines has FCS on channel 173.

YOU MUST HAVE THE SPORTS PACK for DirecTV or Mediacom to get the game.
For anyone living elsewhere, go to Channel Lineup - Mediacom and type in your zipcode.

FCS is NOT on Dish Network

Not even CW can stop the "What channel is the game on" threads. You could have a message pop up with this info every time someone logs in and someone would still ask what channel the game is on.

But how do I watch it if I am completely committed to not putting forth even the most minimal amount of effort to find it on my television, paying a minimal amount no more than $10 to add a channel, going somewhere that is showing the game, or actually going to the game?

Yes, I believe so. A couple of years ago I had Directv and ISU played Colorado on FCS. So we added the sports pack so we could watch it. Wish I hadnt! ha

Thanks, that was very helpful. I didn't even know that I had the FCS channels since they are not HD. I would have missed the game.

It is not just this year that Dish customers have missed out on games. If your a sports fan and especially an ISU fan, this would have to be your third choice (depending on your cable company) for TV service in most places IMO.

I can't figure out why people can't go to Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports to get the channel and radio listings for a game. And then use this nifty website called Google to figure out what channel number their provider has for a network. This whole Internet thing is really confusing.

Looks like I'll have it on 173 here in Mediacom DSM of course, but no HD - which is a bummer. Good thing I'll be at the game. so my dvr will have its first no HD sporting event on it...i feel like i just fell off my dinosaur.

i do NOT have the sports pack, but I was able to watch the Colorado game on FCS On Directv.
