Anyone hear anything about the Pocahontas, Manson, Rockwell City area??

not much damage here at Twin Lakes tornado sirens went off around 12:30 and the place was dead as can be, no wind no nothing, just one hell of a light show, around 1:30-2 is when it started to get bad, torrential downpour and straight-line winds, actually moved my jeep a couple of feet.. other than that, nothing too exciting

We have a rather large tree limb on the roof of our house. I climbed up there and don't think there is any damage but it was loud when it hit us.

I slept through it (urbandale); I wouldn't have even known anything happened, but luckily the longest branch at the top of one of my tree's was dangling above the ground to let me know...

I cut the bottom half off, but I have no idea how i'm going to get the rest of it down

Slept through it in Ames. Got home from the bars, heard the rain start up, and passed out.

the biggest tree in the NW corner of my backyard was split in half at 3:15. I'm on the far west edge of Clive. It woke me up, it sounded like rain was going to come through my window sideways. I've got the call into Allied to estimate cleanup/removal of the rest of the tree

Pretty big tree in my backyard was completely uprooted. A friend of mine had a huge tree in his front lawn fall right onto his house.

I just got home from working out on the roof at Barilla. There was a section of roof about 75'x50' that was completely blown off. It looked like it peeled the rubber back and threw it over the big duct that runs across the top of the roof. Insulation was blown all over the property out there. Was pretty bad!

Went to HP for lunch today, the cyclone truck stop lost a huge chunk of roof. There was also a trailer turned over by the old gas pumps.

The rock quarry North of 80/35 between Merle Hay and 2nd Avenue had that big rig in the middle of the water turned completely over. We were in Chicago over the weekend and didn't know it stormed that bad until I saw that overturned and all the piles of branches on the curb of 86th street.

Anyone know how bad it was in Ankeny last night?

Veenker lost 50-60 trees last night. Either uprooted or split in half. I now hate my life.

The storm hit St. Louis this morning as I was leaving to head back to Iowa, got pretty bad but sounds like Iowa got hit harder.

Very large branch from my maple tree down on my roof in Norwalk. Waiting for a claims adjuster to inspect everything to make sure no damage to the roof. It was so loud when it hit. By the sound I thought lightning struck the house. Hopefully it didn't break any of the joists or rafters in the roof. About a quarter of my tree is no longer there.

I was in Grinnell last night visiting the wife's family. Didn't do anything there, but could see everything from the farm. Could see everything from DSM to Pella to Oskaloosa. Have NEVER seen lightning strikes like I did last night!

Ames suffered a variety of problems due to the storm. Maybe the worst was the damage done to some of the large tents that the Iowa Games, in town for the long weekend, used for a number of purposes. I saw one across the street from the stadium that was pretty badly mangled. Some of the large trash containers were scattered all over the place. The news reported that the storm started in the NW and took a SE direction across the state; they noted that the storm was about 70-80 miles wide, which explains why the NE and the SW parts of the state did not suffer much. Overall, lots of work for the tree surgeons this week.

Was nice and fun up in Minneapolis last night as well... got to experience the lower levels of TCF Bank Stadium due to the 2 tornado warnings that pretty much killed the event i was at.

We were in Minehaha and watched it all unfold form the 9th floor of the hotel. I was glued to the window as I was pretty sure a mature tree was going to lift right out of the paring lot below. Pure craziness!
