Very large branch from my maple tree down on my roof in Norwalk. Waiting for a claims adjuster to inspect everything to make sure no damage to the roof. It was so loud when it hit. By the sound I thought lightning struck the house. Hopefully it didn't break any of the joists or rafters in the roof. About a quarter of my tree is no longer there.

Thats funny because we ARE hoping the tree on our roof did damage so we can get the roof replaced.

Drove home from work Sunday morning to find a portable basketball hoop laying on Meridith Dr in Urbandale. No idea where it came from. So many twigs and branches on the road you couldn't even drive the speed limit. Not to mention the large tree that took the power lines down and left us without power until the early afternoon. Spent several hours bailing the sump pump.

Had a tree get uprooted and fell onto my house during the storm. After wind died down it rocked back to it's normal positions and stayed.

Would have been easier had it fallen to ground but now I gotta hire a tree service to take it down.

A family of squirrels that had made their home in my nieghbor's trees were found in their yard, dead, yesterday morning. Apparently some of the young ones survived, but many others were not so lucky.

We had a tree limb fall off our neighbor's tree and land between our two vehicles, but no other damage to speak of.

typically you have to have an endorsement to have the tree removed. Your standard insurance will pay to fix the house and get it off the house so it can be fixed, but unless you buy a special endorsement for the trees you won't get any help with having the tree removed.

Tree service just estimated $1500 because they have to use a crane to get to it.

Waiting on adjuster now. Agent said we're likely covered cause it did fall on house and cause damage.

I may error on side of caution and just have the tree co just get it down and then I'll chop it up from there.

Will the tree company just remove the tree from my roof? I want to keep the tree so I can chop it up and use it as fire wood.

Yes, I'm having them do the same thing for me. Haul away the small stuff but leave the other stuff and I'll chop it up for firewood this winter.

Sweet!! They can even leave the small stuff and I'll use it for a bon fire (nice thing about living out side of town).
