I gotta believe Wiggington and Lard figure this out. Right? Right!?! I mean, it’s not like they all of a sudden suck. Right?!? Gah! This team is so close to being elite.

He hasn't had as much time as everyone else. I think he just felt pressure to contribute and tried to do too much at times. He did have some fantastic assists. A ton of season left to get it figured out.
His assists has been great but it seems like he's been out of sync with the of the team from the beginning and his defense hasn't been great. Nearing a month since he's been back and it doesn't seem he's making the contribution that a player of his caliber should be making.

I agree that it's about time to get him fully integrated with everyone else, and I'm sure that the coaching staff has it as a priority.

Certainly not a mismatch with KU.

Gonna need to be really good the rest of the way.

It seems like we're prone to having these stretches where offensive production just stops completely. Happened in the OSU game, and has happened at least a couple times before as well.
Agree with this, but at the same time, it's conference season. These teams know everything about you, there's gonna be slow spots in every game. The key is to limit these stretches, and play good enough defense to put other teams in slow spots, at least enough to pull away when you can.
Difference tonight was that it occurred in the phog. If that run tonight, and subsequent come back by Iowa St, happens anywhere else in the Big 12, I like Iowa Sts chances of finishing out the win.

Slow spots happen, absolutely.

Slow is a different league from how we get when we're off. We come to a complete stop.

Consistently inconsistent - easiest way to describe this team. As a fan it is insanely frustrating watching such a talented team have so many stupid mistakes and cost us these close games. These guys have to get it figured out come March because "he played well last game" doesn't really mean too much then.

That's what did it. Just saw on ESPN that KU outscored ISU 24-6 in the paint in the 2nd half. And KU finally did better guarding the three so most of ISU's shots ended up being long 2 pt. jumpers.

ISU certainly has a better offensive team than Kansas. We stunk pretty good for a nice chunk of this game tonight but had one hot streak and some nice drives to the rim down the stretch.

Glad KU was able to pull out the win and salvage what was one of the worst weekends I have experienced in a long time. ISU looks good; they are absolutely going to be in the running for the Big 12 title this year. ISU is much more balanced than Texas Tech, who can't score outside of one good player. This KU team has problems; Self has his work cut out for him to try to get the Big 12 title.
We are a 12-6 or 11-7 team in the Big 12. Not consistent enough for more.

If we continue to play with focus and intensity night in and night out, we have a great chance to contend for Big 12 champion. Last night solidified that for me. There are no easy wins out there, but I think we had a tougher first 7 games than anyone.

If this group gets to the point where everyone plays solid every night, they can beat anyone. Yes, they tossed up too many 3's last night, but it sure worked well the first time around. We're not Duke yet, but we're a good, solid top 20 team. I don't think any coach looks forward to playing us....and when everyone is up to speed, look out.

Not only that, but he seems to force things far too often. That coupled with his frequent out of control drives to the basket that result in turnovers. Maybe we stop telling him how many NBA scouts are in attendance so he doesn’t feel like he has to prove he’s the prettiest girl in school in front of them.

That thought did cross my mind as well. He seems to be playing a bit too fast at times. He did make some very nice passes in the game, a definite area of improvement from last year. Just seems to be pressing instead of playing in the flow. That's why I suggested in another thread that perhaps they should try starting him for a game, just to see if he gets in rhythm from the start instead of after sitting on the bench. The team won't reach its potential unless he gets back in rhythm.
