Wallet - center console of car about 95% of the time. Otherwise, back right pocket
Phone - back right pocket unless carrying wallet, then back left
Keys - front right
Cash (if any) - front left

I need to switch to a thinner wallet and just have my DL, CC, and DC in it and keep all that other crap somewhere in my car.

Right now, I have a Dave and Busters card, dental card, pharmacy card, health insurance card, a second credit card that I never use, a Sports Clips punch card, and a couple random gift cards that probably have under $2 on them that I SWEAR I'm gonna remember to use some day.
Do you have to take your phone out every time you sit down?

For those of you that have the magnetic clip wallets, don't those potentially damage certain credit cards &/or cell phones? Or are the magnets not strong enough to do that? I wouldn't be opposed to switching to something a little thinner.

Yep. It sits on my desk at work, on the table if I'm eating out somewhere, in the center console of my car if I'm driving, or on my table/night-stand at home.

If I'm at a basketball game or a movie or something, I'll move it to the front pocket, but otherwise I can get it out of my back pocket a lot quicker.

I've never had a problem with credit cards and mine has a pretty strong magnet (to hold all my cash:skeptical:) but hotel key cards will get ruined if I get it anywhere close.

I've never had any issue with my credit cards. It seems hotel room keys should not be kept in the same pocket as the magnetic wallet though.

Do you find you come across a lot of situations where that increased speed of getting your phone out is necessary?

Keep this in my front pocket with my keys. Phone goes in other front pocket.

For you receipt folks...what the hell do you keep receipts for?

All my receipts are through work purchases. I have a corporate card, but I have to pay the bill every month, so I turn in the receipts, they cut me a check, I pay the credit card out of my account with the check they cut me. Wallet seems the best way to carry those receipts until I can get back to the office to scan them.

Try a receipt scanning app, so much better than carrying paper receipts. I started doing this recently when I travel for work and its nice not to have to worry about misplacing a receipt.

I use CamScanner (free) and you can email .jpg or .pdfs of the scanned receipt to yourself.

Fortunately my current firm uses Replicon for expenses and they have a mobile app. I can take a photo of the receipt within the app. Or attach "screenshots" of email/app receipts and attach within the Replicon app. Weekly expenses done in no time.

What do you do when you have to return something or you got double charged?

The question was in reference to people keeping receipts in their wallets. If I ever return something I don't think it's ever happened beyond 12 hours...a day at the most so the receipt is still sitting in the bag. And I've never had to deal with a double charge.

I really need a new wallet. Years ago I got one that was advertised as a slim wallet, and it was for awhile until I overstuffed it with stuff, turning it into a Constanza travesty that can cause back pain on long car rides.

The worst part is that I can't slim it down because all the spots are so stretched I need all the cards and stuff to keep everything in place.

A rough list of things are: 3 credit cards, 1 debit card, current health and dental cards, old health and dental cards, Costco card, multiple rewards card, 3 gift cards, room key to a cabin on a cruise ship, drivers license, gov't ID, old ISU ID, very old high school ID, voter registration, Hy-Vee Fuel saver, about 5-10 receipts, two tickets to the ISU v Northern Illinois game from December 31. Oh and no cash of course.

Man, looking at that list I think I'm a wallet hoarder.

Does it just take a picture and put it in PDF form? How does it work?

Those are the reasons I have receipts in my wallet. I don't keep bags laying around with a receipt in it. I must be unlucky on the double charge thing. Its much easier if you have the receipt available.

Front pocket wallet for lyfe. Once you're tried it you'll never put your wallet in your back pocket again. So much more comfortable.

Fully agree. I tried putting my wallet in the back pocket when I first started carrying one as a kid and it was just not comfortable. Why would you want to sit on a lump of leather or take something everything out of your pocket every time you sit down? If you think about it, it makes no sense.

For me -- Wallet & Keys front left, phone front right. Sadly, my wallet doesn't even qualify for the fashion police. It's a tri-fold at age 28. I'm still not sure how having a leather tri-fold wallet can be considered juvenile. I'd be with you if you're talking a velcro wallet with your favorite super hero on the outside, but hey to each his own.
