Wake up people! ISU will BLOW past UNI!

I think you Johnny-come-lately's are wrong. I don't think we were ever in a position to blow UNI out like the OP said, but this was a bad loss. We are better than UNI and for the second straight year, we played right into their hands and it cost us.

Instead of moving the ball using screens to create spacing and motion on offense, the other four guys stood around and watched DG dribble. I don't blame DG for half of the bad shots he took, simply because nobody else was moving without the ball.

Plain and simple, ISU is better and we should have won this game. That's that.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. That's the lifeblood of this board.

How is that prediction working out now?

We usually make fun of Hawk fans who use this type of logic. Last I knew the team with the most points at the end of the game is the better team. They forced us to play their tempo and made us look silly. UNI was the better team tonight and it wasn't really even close because of some of the dumb decisions we were making.

And as far as blaming the refs? There were bad calls on both sides. We give Creighton fans all sorts of crap for making the fuss they made about a legitimate bad call, yet we have posters now that they think(falsely) that the calls caused us to lose acting the same way.

I see what you're getting it, but I'm not trying to take anything away from UNI. They did what they do and we didn't make the adjustments and instead of creating the tempo and pressing the issue, we reacted to what they did settled for bad shots and drawn out possessions where there was little to no movement and the spotty passing at best.

This loss is on the offensive philosophy, or lack thereof by ISU. You can't tell me after that game that ISU shouldn't have walked out of there with a victory. Two straight years the exact same thing has happened. ISU is easily more talented 1-5 and this is a bad loss that shouldn't have happened.

And I haven't said a word about the refs. You should probably direct that at someone else.

Makes no sense... we couldn't shot on the road but we should have won the game? We play them once and they beat us so on this night they were the better team. Let it go and give UNI credit.

Missing an obscene amount of bunny shots and shooting ice cold from the perimeter makes no sense? Makes perfect sense...shots didn't fall tonight. I'm not crying about it but I'm not going to pretend UNI came out and dominated the game when really ISU just shot the ball like ****.

How many times must we reteach this lesson: You may have a couple better athletes, but UNI has the better team, just like last year. And at the end of the day??? Scoreboard. In fact now that I think about it, I'm not sure ISU's athletes are really better after all.

See, more than anything, I hate the reaction of UNI fans. They think they're a legitimate team all of a sudden. Let us not forget, they lost to ******* UW-Milwaukee not long ago.

UNI reached its peak last year by pulling off a miraculous win over KU. I'm sure UNI had better athletes and was a better team than Kansas last year too. LOLLLLLLL.

Congrats on the 'win', hopefully it'll be the last for a while. We should have a resemblance of a basketball team next year, and that's all a Big 12 school needs to beat someone like UNI. Ohhhh, and competent officials.

Disagree. UNI is a more complete team because they have an inside game. They aren't all that athletic and won't make the tourney, but they're built to make teams like ISU pay. This game went just about how I thought it would...UNI controls the tempo and gets our "bigs" in foul trouble. Get ready, because this is what the conference season is going to look like. Lots of DG dribbling and going one on one because there's no post up game to force anyone to double and allow for open shots.

That's what I'm trying to say. You have to create an inside game and at least keep the opponent honest. Use backcuts, post up Anderson or Ejim. Move without the ball. None of those things happened tonight and the one time they have happened this year, we clawed back into the Creighton game. That's why this loss is so frustrating. We have the players and talent to do this, but we just plain and simple didn't.

Maybe the OP simply meant to post that ISU will Blow AT UNI, rather than past. Simple mistake. Hopefully Fred and the boys get somethnig useful from this rather ugly performance.

I think this game could end up anywhere from ISU winning by 20 pts... to UNI winning by about 6.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I think we're the better team and we could blow them out if everything goes our way, but I don't see UNI being able to blow us out if they were to win.

You were spot on. We played as poorly as we could and they beat us by 6

These threads typically end up being the kiss of death later in the evening.

unfortunately we as Panther fans suffered the same result with out thread regarding our football season......nice game...better team won. your 6-0 record was WAY toooooo inflated.

good luck finishing in the top half of your conference

Points in the paint ISU 14-4, even with all the easy missed shots from 5 feet.

You are definately a Hawk fan or Matt P himself. You just joined the board tonight. Why not after the big win last year? All UNI fans are displaced Hawk fans. We know you are a troll.

Actually it was an ok win for us. We have a lot stiffer competition in store from us when conference play begins........anybody who actually thought ISU was going to win this game was kidding themselves....I love watching you guys spin out of control even worse than last year when we put the beat down on you......

Not a troll and not a hawk fan.....just could not help myself after reading all of your boards BS predictions for tonights game.......I hope you guys get some quality wins which will help our RPI. If not then this win means nothing as we were predicted to win and did win....thats it...pretty simple
