I don't know that QB is even the biggest issue. The o-line is terrible and the back four on defense is also awful. Minnesota has at least 4 guys on those two corps that probably wouldn't be starters on any other team. You can add the SAM linebacker to that list too. Never good when you win a starting job be default.

The O-line sucks!! Period. Receivers dropped a lot of balls. Coaching wise... why go with the kid from Stanford - Gerhart - over Peterson on the 4-1 call? That could have been a game changer...

my two cents...
Beat texas.... shorthorns... : )

Yes sir. Best RB in the league and Gerhart gets the ball

Went to this game today! Was my first NFL game ever! Great game!

First half was not so good. I found myself thinking at halftime 'They blew the lead last week, no way they do it again. They had to of learned their lesson.' Glad that thought was wrong.

GO LIONS!!!

The O LINE needs to do something, but I want to see what Ponder can do hell why not.

They blew three consecutive halftime, double-digit leads and did so in their first three games. First time in the history of the NFL this has happened.

I'm having a hard time deciding if Leslie Frazier is either blind, an incompetent coach, or Brad Childress 2.0. I really want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but to have this happen once is an accident, twice is a problem, thrree times is a trend.

And don't even get me started on McNabb...:realmad:

I'm not ready to write off the season, as we are not mathematically out of it, but this is getting rediculous. At least Iowa State is 3-0! Yay pick-me-ups!

I tend to agree with these sentiments. It appears to be rebuilding time. The Vikings had their chance two years ago and blew it. Now they have an aging roster with big holes to fill in the secondary, O-line, and at receiver. Every other team in their division has blown by them. Start playing Ponder to see whether he can be the quarterback of the future, and quit giving up draft picks for over-the-hill veterans.

I agree with their window closing in New Orleans. I've told several people that while I love Peterson, I hope they don't spend too much on a big extension (oops) because they'll be rebuilding pieces for at least another 2-3 years when he's on the back end of being a premiere back.

Talked to a friend of mine tonight coming home from the game. She and I both agree, just as well give Ponder a shot. McNabb's just not getting it done. We've got tickets next Sunday for KC/Vikes and, as much as I hate to admit it, Chiefs will most likely get their first win. Thank God the Clones are winning!

I can't really say I'm disappointed. As soon as I heard they signed McNabb, this is pretty much how I envisioned the season going. Defense holds tough until they are gassed. McNabb is not a good Quaterback. Waay too many 3 and outs for this team. First thing I would do would be bench Mcnabb, second would be to fire the O.C., then go from there. It's really sad all the talent on this team is being wasted on washed up has been QBs.

I'm loving it. As a 49ers fan that grew up in north central Iowa, Vikings fans were always like an NFL version of Hawkeye fans. I love seeing the team fail just to see the fans jumping off the ledge.

I really don't think McNabb deserves all this heat. He played pretty well today. The one play he had at the end of the 1st half was pretty amazing. The guy doesn't have wide receivers and barely has an offensive line in front of him.

Vikings management sold it down the river when it had a talented young RB, and apparently an offensive system to use that to advantage, a solid defense, and needed to either develop a young QB or find a veteran who "wouldn't lose games" ... and decided the only thing necessary for greatness was to get Brett Favre.

Similar to, "the only missing piece of the puzzle is Herschel Walker!" ... but we need to trade every significant role player and most substantial draft picks for the next three years.

How many starting QBs has Minnesota had since 1990? 17?

The Rams got beat today 37-7 at home

is it worse to lose in overtime?

Losing in OT, after leading 20-0 at half? To the Lions? Yeah... I don't see a much worse outcome than that. Even if you ignore the 10 and 17 point leads blown in the previous two games.

This is the only problem I have with your rant - only people who haven't been paying attention would make a statement like this. This is not the same Lions team that recently went 0-16. They have arguably the best defensive line in the league right now and Fairley isn't even playing yet. They have arguably the best wide receiver in the league and Stafford is proving he can play big boy QB as he's staying healthy this year. There's a reason why they're everyone's sexy pick to make the playoffs this year - because they're in the process of building a monster in Detroit. Not to mention they've now won 7 straight dating back to last year.

I'd say the bigger shock from that game yesterday was the fact the Lions found themselves down 20-0 at the half in the first place, not the fact they came back to win the game.

Vikings Fans were like Hawk fans? As opposed to those who latched on to the Super Bowl winner and called that their team? I've been a Vikings fan my whole life. I don't ever remember having a sense of entitlement or calling every game someone else's Super Bowl. If nothing else, it brought me a lot of humility and helped me deal with being a Cyclone fan. Personally, I always saw it the other way, With those who became "fans" of the Cowboys, Steelers and '49ers when I was a kid. They always acted like they were the better group. That somehow, being a fan of a winner made you a better person. I'm not saying this is you, but it seemed to me, a lot of people I knew who were Cowboy fans in the '70s, then suddenly became San Fran fans in the 80's.
