Heading to Steamboat next Thursday, looks like it may be an interesting trip...

For a while there I thought you were going to risk your life trying to get to Steamboat Rock, IA and was going to try to talk you out of it.

Edit: Used to fish around there, and always just referred to it as "Steamboat".

My back is already starting to hurt. Echo those that hope the worst misses us.

Next Week will be even Stormier - AccuWeather.com

In the video Bernie suggests that the storm for the 21-22 could be very significant and then there is a storm behind the big one that Bernie hinted could affect our area significantly as well. That one would come in on or around Monday (25th).

He must be a Cyclone fan predicting a Big Monday victory for ISU.

This storm (if it pans out) will certainly give the bracket participants enough time to talk smack (as if they don't have enough time already).

No plans for that day but I got stuck on the runway for 2 hours in the DSM while they de-iced our plane during the snow a couple weeks ago which caused us to miss our connection in Memphis and we got stuck there for 6 hours. Good thing there is no shortage of BBQ places to eat in that airport, but I feel for anyone that gets their travel plans screwed with and my story isn't even that bad.

We leave from the Quads on Thursday, stay in Des Moines, then head out early Friday.
I was just talking with the people I'm going with, we may be adjusting our travel times because of the storm. Obviously, we're going to wait until we have a better idea of when and where it will be the worst, but By God we are getting out to Colorado for some knee deep fresh.
Travel safe and have fun!

Coming back from San Francisco for the NCAA VBall tourney this year the band got put on 5 different flights home. My flight flew into Minneapolis. We sat on the tarmac for 3 hours. We first waited for potable water, next we were in a line of 30 planes to get deiced, then we got put in a different line and were 2nd in line, then the deicer ran out of fluid right before us, then we didn't have enough fuel to get to Des Moines, then we got our flight cancelled. Waited 6 more hours in the airport until our director came and got us. We got back at 3:30 in the morning and had finals starting at 7! Took 19 hours to get back to Ames.
