I would bet the under or not at all. I say they will win 3 games max with the potential to win 0. I think Toledo is the safest game of the year but even that is away so I'm not 100% sure.

I hope that they can prove Vegas and the neigh-sayers wrong and actually win more then 3. I want them to excel but it has to come with sweat, blood and determination.

KU lost their three best(ish) players in the last couple weeks. Chalk that game up for a win. I'm betting the farm on Bovada.

I would highly discourage you from betting the farm on an Iowa State football game no matter who it is against. Think about it. If you actually want to bet a lot of money there are much better options. It's just never wise to bet a bunch of money on your own team because you let bias get in the way.

I'm not saying they won't beat KU. I think they probably will, but I'd never bet on it. Just not a smart play. By all means, if you're that comfortable with it then have at it.

Don't worry, I won't let our rival's opinion cloud my judgment. We get it, you think ISU sucks.

Umm it's not that I think ISU sucks at all. Look at the history man. All I was saying was that you'd be making an awfully dumb bet based upon historical facts. KU is bad too. I get it. I even said I think ISU will win. I was simply trying to encourage you to think a little bit more about who you'd be betting on before making a big wager.

I've learned in the past it is incredibly dumb to bet on a team that you are partial to. That's a cardinal rule for anyone who actually makes money on a consistent basis betting on sports.

Nothing against Coach Mac, but times have changed. We were playing in a suspect Big 12 North division. K-State – was up and down Kansas – was beatable Missouri – was up and down Colorado – was up and down And then you have 3 non-conference games that we typically should win. Granted it seemed like any time we played them it was that schools best year of college football. Not to mention Baylor was just Baylor back then. Okie St. was suspect and beatable. I was at the press conference the day McCarney was hired and I will never forget that speech and I shed a tear the day he was basically let go. I’m also not saying 3 wins is acceptable. I would sure like to get us to a bowl game consistently, but we do have one of the toughest schedules every year. Finally, remember the Hawks making fun of us because our division sucked so bad and we couldn’t win it? Karma’s a beotch!
And now we hope to beat UNI, Toledo, Kansas, and Iowa. What has changed? TCU and Baylor are up. OSU and OU are mostly up. UT and TT are not up? Bill Snyder up from the grave? WVU is basically up? Colorado would still stink. Nebby and Missouri would be better although they are not up that much.

25/1 to win conference?

I think the odds are better that I marry Kelly Kapowski than it is for ISU to win the Big XII

All those other said north schools have increased their expectations and expect more out of football because they understand it is good for business. Why can't Iowa State?

We have increased our expectations and that's why we got rid of Mac. None of us are happy with the results of our football team.

As far as the other teams, I'm assuming you mean they've just increased expectations because not ALL of them are good now. Colorado blows, Kansas is still Kansas, K-State caught lightning in a bottle twice with Snyder (hopefully that will go away as soon as he decides to hang it up).

Missouri has had some good years, Okie State is the same, and Baylor should be good because of it's location. Also, Missouri and Okie State have more access and closer to fertile recruiting beds. Location, location, and Money!

Thanks for the tip.

I remember it differently..... going 0-fer in conference in year 10 of DannyMac, and not shaking up staff is how I remember it.

Well, as you stated the other schools are up. So not sure what else you want me to explain.

Texas is still Texas, they have a heck of a lot more talent then we will ever have. We use to alternate years with not having Texas and Oklahoma on our schedule now we play them every year. Baylor we play every year now as well and they are considered one of the elite football programs. TCU is a top 25 team so my point is valid that the schedule is tougher and the landscape of the Big 12 has changed, especially when we have to play all of the southern teams every year now.

I'm not satisfied with the results either, but I also don't know what the answer is. Do you?

Oh then what the heck are we complaining about then? DMac was self-inflicted and we don't have any expectations. It's better that way anyway, carry on!

What are you talking about? The only North school that is better than they were 10 years ago is Missouri.

People base too much on what happened last year. The defense should be a little better with the transfers coming in. The offense should be a little better in year two of Mangino, year one of Bundrage/Lazard/Montgomery together, year four of Sam at QB. The schedule sets up to potentially win three of their first five or four of their first six and then it gets ugly after that. Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not. But give me the over all day.

Wins against UNI, Iowa, Toledo, and KU are a stretch. Sure hope we don't lose to an FCS school three years in a row. 2013 UNI, 2014 NDSU, 2015 UNI? This would set a record.
