I saw one in DM once that said BLONDE and was put on upside-down. I just don't see how you could top that.

Incidently, does anyone know if the new I-State logos are on the license plates yet?

Actually that is a girls that I know. I think she's been warned a couple times about it being upside down.

Not yet. Iowa State was pushing to try to get them out before Christmas, but they didn't like the designs when they were put on the plates. They're still working on them.

The other day we were driving through Des moines and saw Hawkeye plates that had "DB4HAWKS".

I am sure it is Dan Banks or something, but in my mind it is the greatest plate I have ever seen, they should all be like that, DB1/DB2/DB3-etc.......

I want vanity plates once I get my new car (silver). Currently, not thinking a dark green car is going to look so hot with Iowa State plates on it. Probably just get something generic when I do...

Try getting vanity plates in Wyoming . . . You only get 4 letters/numbers

Why are there only 4 cars in Wyoming?

I worked with a guy from Wyoming once in Austin. He told me that he never locks his doors to his house. They were unlocked for that whole week he was in Austin.

my pathetic brother-in-law in Dubuque had a mullet until about '94 and a plate that said XTCNXS. that was OK until he got married, traded in the coupe for a minivan, had two kids, and got rid of the plate about a year ago. a couple years after reaching 40. of course he's a died hard hawk fan.

I used to see the ISU plates HUKDFOX in Campustown, and wonder how that one slipped by the DOT. What, they thought his name was "Huck", and he was nicknamed "Fox"?!!

When you fill out the form, you have to write in the explanation for what you're requesting. Sounds to me like that person's explanation was sufficient for whoever from IDOT looked at it that day. If it turns out later that a previously approved plate is "not good" they can require that you give it up and return the plates.
