STAIGER IN LIMBO
Iowa State freshman guard Lucca Staiger is still awaiting a decision from the NCAA concerning his eligibility this season.

"Last week there was a fire in the NCAA building so they closed their doors for two days,'' Iowa State coach Greg McDermott said today. "It happened to be when they were working on Lucca Staiger's case. That's kind of the way things have gone.''

The NCAA's museum and headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind., were closed for a day after Wednesday's small fire, apparently caused by an electrical problem. Some exhibits at the NCAA Hall of Champions sustained water damage from sprinklers, according to the Associated Press.

"What are the odds of that?'' McDermott said. "It's almost comical.''

Go figure. I wouldn't blame Lucca one bit if he went to play some pro ball in Germany.

The gods are truly frowning upon us now. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. We have to pester those gooses to even look at the situation, and when they finally get to work on it there's a fire? Either Lucca was never meant to play for us or there is some voodoo magick at play here.

Didn't they try to use the same delay excuse with Witchita State last year about the juco. Must be some hot circuits in Indy.

Last night I had a dream where Fabian Boeke was playing for Washington State. I was about as mad as you could possibly be in a dream.

I think the NCAA will finally come out and give Lucca a 10 game suspension, so hopefully they will do this before those games are past and he'll be ready to go with "time served."

I have this feeling that he will get 10 games also. Now that we know they are looking at it and the national media has "kind of" caught on, its looking better I guess. That would be the best basketball news we have had in awhile. I just don't see how they can give him a year after all the rest of these guys are playing.
