It's incredible LeBron is 4th in those numbers when you consider that's his 37.5 to 40 years old days.

You look at other absolute legends and they're either out of the game with injuries, role players or inefficient ball dominant players by those years, definitely not high volume top five efficiency guys ever. If there was a separate debate for who is the GOAT after age 35 it'd be pretty easy.

Yeah of all the incredible things he's done in his career, LeBron's longevity is probably the most impressive thing. He's dealt with more little injuries the last few seasons, but to remain a top 10-20 player in the league and one of the best clutch performers around at his age is absolutely unprecedented.

True enough, it’s amazing watching the level he’s still playing at.

You don't have a lot of options when you start talking about even playing from 35-40 years old. Kareem and Karl Malone were still putting up solid numbers in that age range. Even Jordan's last two years at 38-39 weren't completely awful, but he did skip three years of wear and tear before he had them. James is just something else though.

Is he one of the best clutch performers now?
I'm not sure how you measure that but I don't recall that being a recent strength.

Effective fg% in close playoff games is a decent indicator and that linked chart shows top 4 over past few years at an age when most legend players are retired, role players or inefficient chuckers.

You’re absolutely right…but that does bring up an interesting comparison I was thinking of several weeks ago. I don’t know that I’ve heard anyone mention it (though I’m certain I can’t be the first) - LeBron leans pretty heavily into the load management. I’m not even saying he’s wrong for doing so,but Jordan brought it every single night…pretty much playing 82 games every season.

I can’t help but wonder what if Jordan had played less or LeBron was playing 82. I suspect neither could do what the other did. I don’t think you could keep Jordan off the court…but it probably burned him out/wore him down. His stats were still pretty impressive even in his last season.

Still, LeBron has more than earned his spot as one of the best.
