You’re absolutely right…but that does bring up an interesting comparison I was thinking of several weeks ago. I don’t know that I’ve heard anyone mention it (though I’m certain I can’t be the first) - LeBron leans pretty heavily into the load management. I’m not even saying he’s wrong for doing so,but Jordan brought it every single night…pretty much playing 82 games every season.

I can’t help but wonder what if Jordan had played less or LeBron was playing 82. I suspect neither could do what the other did. I don’t think you could keep Jordan off the court…but it probably burned him out/wore him down. His stats were still pretty impressive even in his last season.

Still, LeBron has more than earned his spot as one of the best.
I believe Jordan missed 7 games total in his career except the one year he had a long-term injury. I think Jordan retired early because he had accomplished everything he possibly could. When the whole baseball fantasy didn't work out, he came back and won his second 3 peat, once again what more could he accomplish?
