I'm sure glad a lot of the posters on here are not talent scouts. Do any of you remember other big guys and how they can improve. The kid was a young freshmen but he has some skills that could make him a very good player. Maybe not a big contributor next year but the the year after he should be contributing. Would love to see him redshirt if he would buy into it.

It sounds like he's developed a lot since last year's experience with the Greek national team.

Maybe he will realize that Power 5 basketball is where he will develop the most, which could greatly impact his earning potential down the road.

Thought this would be a good place to put this. This is what he has been doing with the Greek U19 Team. Lead the team in minutes and points over 3 games. Clearly has taken steps forward in the past year.

He barely made noise on the u18 team last year that's pretty big. We forget the kid is still 18. He was 17 when he signed with ISU. Kid is young.

He hasn't tweeted anything since May 15th. The silence probably says a lot.

He was going overseas to play on a national amateur team this summer - maybe he is there already. Hopefully he then meets up with the rest of the team in Europe for that series and will be ready for some meaningful minutes in the non-con. I have high hopes for the kid and wish he wasn't being hit with all this snark on CF.

I think he has a great opportunity this year. There are no true bigs on our team besides Niang and McKay. Nader and Burton are more wings than post players IMO. We might also be dealing with foul problems, injuries, or disciplinary actions - and Hoiberg leaving is not a complete tragedy if you are a tall reserve at ISU.

Is he/was he planning on meeting up with the team when they went to Europe? I never really thought about that.

We we don't get a Juco/transfer, he will see the court especially if there's foul trouble... Obviously McKay is the 5, and Niang would likely be his "sub".

Wouldn't be surprised to see him start here as a junior though.

I would assume he would have let Iowa St know that he was not coming back before he left, plus he probably heard about Frank Kaminski went from unknown to All American!!

I wonder when we can expect to hear something on him. I thought he was gone for sure, but I guess no announcement yet makes me think there is a chance. I know this, if he has any desire to stay in the US some day, staying on the team and completing his education is his best route.

Nice to see him doing so well. Hope he keeps developing and brings his game back to Ames for a few more years.

I believe you meant thanks Matt for taking Darien Williams. That will grind my gears unless we win the NC each of the next three years.

Wonder how GT would do head-to-head with Diallo? Hope we get to find out.

My guess: They'll never be on the court at the same time. And this is assuming he'll be back.

I'll say this though, if they are ever on the court together, then that's either really good news or really bad news for Iowa St
