So Jeremy mentioned in another thread no one was expected to transfer out. That must mean tsalbo will be back. That's a big piece imo. We needed that security coming off the bench.

Also to those of you ripping on tsalbo, gtfoh. Kid comes to a country where he doesn't even speak the language to play basketball and people have the nerve to rip in him. Of course he isn't going to compete his first year, he needs that time to adjust culturally. I look forward to him making progress next year and stepping into a roll with playing time his jr year.

I'm guessing Jeremy was talking about the players he's spoken to, GT not being one of them. And FWIW, GT does speak English.

He wasn't fluent. He is probably close to fluent by now. Also who's tsalmo? You don't even know who we are talking about, and you're telling me Idk what's up?

Until I hear differently I'm assuming he stays back home.

I'm not convinced he would have come back even with Fred but I hope I'm wrong.

We could use the depth this year and beyond.

I hope the kid comes back. Not very often you find a kid who's a legit 7' that can hit shots from anywhere on the court. I'm betting he could play some big minutes after McKay is gone.

Yeah we might have been in trouble if we didn't have a fan favorite big guy who can launch 3's at the end of blowouts.

Either they misspelled his name (first and last) or Iowa State does or I don't see him on that roster.

His name is translated from Greek so there is more than one way to spell it depending on how you translate it. That is probably a better way to spell it considering how it is pronounced.

Nice write up mentioning Tsalmpouris from DraftExpress & recapping his performance. A lot of talent at this Camp so it's nice to see him play well against some good competition. Sounds like he's improved, specifically his post game. Still needs work physically but I am excited about him looking forward to 16-17.

Sounds great:

"-One of two rising sophomore from NCAA programs on the Greek U-19 National Team, Georgios Tsalmpouris saved his best game for last, scoring 16 points against the US Select Team on 6-15 shooting. A skilled 7-footer with nice mobility, Tsalmpouris tossed in a number of hook shots inside, flashing good footwork and a nice feel for the game. Lacking a degree of toughness as a finisher inside to go along with average explosiveness and length, he needs to continue to get stronger to help make up for his other shortcomings. Averaging just 1.4 points over 4.4 minutes per game in 8 appearances as a freshman at Iowa State, it will be interesting to see how he fares as the Cyclones look to rebound from the loss of Fred Hoiberg under Steve Prohm. Iowa State still has two excellent big men who see most of their minutes the center spot, and it will be interesting to see if they can find playing time for this promising project."

hope he comes back. puts on a little weight, and shuts all of the haters up. Prohm may like a 7 footer on the court in some situations. we may actually play big at some point.

Love how the DraftExpress link has player profiles along the sidebar, and mixes in Fred Hoiberg's stats and measurements along with the 18-22 year old players in the camp...made me laugh, whether that's what they were going for or not.

I'd love to have GT back. He's a 7ft kid who will get nothing but better. Even if he doesn't get much PT, he is going to challenge McKay and Georges in practice. And as others have said, the cupboard is pretty bare in 2016. Don't tell me he can't develop and become a starter by then - maybe a darn good one.

That said, it does kind of feel like he is staying in Greece.

Seems like he has every reason to be in Greece the entire time school is out...
