Testifying
Huxley's Prairie Days had Hairball scheduled as the main event last year. I think rain cancelled that?

Celebration, FL (the town built by Disney to be "perfect"). Even the power lines are held on towers that are shaped like Mickey Mouse ears.

And we shouldn't overlook Britt's Hobo Days!

I live just over 20 miles from Britt so I thought I would give it a try last year. Pretty disappointing. They had a good band perform on Sat. night. Unfortunately not many people showed up.

Dike also has Watermelon Days.

The only thing that could have made my teenage years more complete would have been being named the Dike Watermelon Queen but alas, they do not crown royalty at this event.

Cedar Rapids has the Kolach Festival, usually in June at St. Ludmilla's Church on the SW side. Also, down on 16th Avenue in CR, they have Houby (spelling?) Days, which I believe is the Bohemian word for "mushroom".

Yumm to both of these!

I agree, I remember going when I was younger and it being a lot of fun (I.e., hobos hanging out, etc.) I went back a couple years ago and it seemed like the place was dead, except for the bars (red rooster I think was still there, or whatever its called now)

Nordic Fest in Decorah is tough to beat IMO.
