Did they really screw it up or did KState just make a great play when they needed to? The hold was fine and the kick was fine as well. Just give credit where credit is due on that play.
Correct. According to everyone, including Rhoads himself, we did nothing wrong on that extra point. The snap was good, the kick was a good trajectory and right down the middle. The line blocked it fine, but a 6"4" kid from KSU with outstanding leaping ability, who has already blocked one FG this year, made a very athletic play, got his hand up, timed it perfect, and somehow the ball went right where his hand was. Unbelievable.
As for this offense... I'm just as confused as anyone else. Why does it seem like we're always throwing into double coverage? I agree with the other poster, someone has to be open in this offense. That last TD pass to Jake should never have been thrown by a good QB. He was blanketed by double coverage. AA is just struggling mightily and we can only hope he figures it out.... or else Tiller might be playing earlier than we thought.
And our defense played great. The one bad play they had, the 2nd to last TD by KSU, was a bad call by Burnham. He choose to only rush 3 guys. KSU's QB had all day and he burned us. KSU's last TD was a total fluke. We had a great rush on him, he escaped it, and threw a prayer into good double coverage that Sims should have gotten a hand on but missed it. Overall, this defense did everything it needed to win this game. We CANNOT win games in the Big 12 without our #1 RB by throwing less than 50% completions and for only 154 yds. Sorry... it can't happen folks.
IMO, Mr. Herman right now has a lot of explaining to do to Mr. Rhoads. Everyone on this coaching staff has to be held accountable. Herman is getting good money to produce. Right now, our offense is costing us games, and if Rhoads is a good CEO, he should be asking questions. And I think Herman would agree. I would hope that Herman would give this offense a grade of "D" right now. The only reason it's not an "F", is because we've been able to run the ball some.
