I really don't care for Ray Lamontagne.

Really? I like him. He's a sandpaper-voiced soulful singer.

Plus, his backstory is interesting. He had never picked up a guitar in his life, and was working in a shoe factory. He heard (I think) Otis Redding on the radio there, and walked away from the job, bought a guitar, and the rest is history.

How about Justin Timberlake? Whenever I hear his music, I want to run and put my head through a wall....

Remember the months leading up to the Michael McDonald concert at Prarie Meadows? I swear every other commercial on every radio station was for the Michael McDonald show...

I like the music, just don't like his voice. Of course I can't stand that song from the movie "Once" either and I seem to be in the minority on that one too. Oh well.

What, no Vanilla Ice? Amy Winehouse? Marilyn Manson? Even though, I like Pearl Jam's music, Eddie Vedder bugs me to no end. Spare me the self-righteous crusade against TM.

In his defense, that crusade was over 9 years ago and it was to save the fans money. Can't crap on him for that.

Neil Young and Phil Collins leap right out to me. For both their singing and the annoying subject matter of their songs.

I have to give Blunt a pass; he's a commissioned officer in the Queen's Own Household Cavalry, and I gotta give a fellow CAV Man a break.

John Mayer gets an "Epic Fail" from me for his fixation on the sex act. Dude sings as if he invented it. Chances are he actually probably comes up short in that category. Same thing for just about any rap artist ever born.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins, but will admit I can't listen to them for too many songs in a row or his voice will get to me eventually.

Scott Stapp is horrible - just listen to any of his solo-post-creed stuff. he is also a nut...

here is one I don't think anyone said should be on the list, Bono anyone?

for women, what about Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse?

Neil Young? You take that back!

As far as John Mayer, all I have to say to him is "STOP WHISPERING! Sing already!" He's very annoying.

The other voice that grates on me is the lead singer of Counting Crows.

My favorite Saturday Night Live sketch of all times was a spoof of one of those late night commercials, where Adam Sandler pretended to be Neil Young singing a bunch of children's songs. (M-I-C; K-E-Y.... M-O-U-S-E!!!!)

It is my theory the Neil Young only sang one song, one way, and rerecorded it a bazillion times. They really sound exactly alike, in his annoying, cross between fingernails on a chalkboard/cat being tortured to death by hot irons, "voice". (shudder!):arghh::eek4wd:

No way, Panic! is great.

Here is the list for those who don't want to read the article:

10. Celine Dion
9. John Mayer
8. Conner Oberst
7. Lily Allen
6. Tiny Tim
5. James Blunt
4. Frankie Valli
3. Billy Corgan
2. Scott Stapp
1. Michael Bolton

Bob Slydell: I'll be honest with you, I love his music, I do, I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".
