It's stupid and immature, I think?
Beyond drunk fans should be complaining about stupidity and immaturity? :twitcy:

It beats the heck out of "That's another Cyclone three-and-out."
I guess I just don't understand the "it's high school or lower class football" arguement. In my mind, it's crowd participation and that's never a bad thing.
Should we not cheer for a first down? I thought those were good things. The crowd can't be noisy on it's own? The crowd isn't intellectual enough to know when it is a good time to cheer? Cheering for a 1st down? Embarrassing.
That's almost worse than the video board showing players shaking key's for a key play....man just reminds me of a highschool game, or an NAIA game.

Then cue jr4cy, the horn guy! Go Cyclones!
Although I like what JR4Cy does, its hard to hear outside of the student section. They need to mic up JR4Cy or play the band more because the west side or south side can't hear it.
Could hear it clear as day when i watched the tv replay. Offense is too fast for the band.
For those of you using the argument that it makes the crowd create noise... yes it does. But do we want our own fans making a bunch of noise when WE ARE ON OFFENSE??? NO!!!
I participate, but not when it looks like our offense is really hurrying, in crucial points of the game. When our offense is driving north towards the student section, it becomes even more of a problem because right after this chant, there is the "first down" song played by the band and "Go Cyclones!" chanted by the students 3 times.
Shhh! Save it for defense.

Good point, but we HAVE made a first down in the past, so it's not INcorrect to say "another".I always feel that they should say "that's a Cyclone firstdown" for the 1st one of the game, then "that's another...." from there on out. Just my thoughts.
I think you just defined "college".It's stupid and immature, I think?
Always vaguely wondered about that -- are you an athlete with first hand experience? In basketball, it always seems like the guys feed off the crowd's noisy energy more than it bothers them because they can't hear when we have the ball. Always figured it was similar for football -- and I don't think the crowd is quite as loud when supporting the offense (on a 4th and inches, for example) as they are when trying to support the defense (on a 4th and inches, for example). For those of you using the argument that it makes the crowd create noise... yes it does.
