I think you guys are nuts if you think we don't offer Martinez.

I guarantee Rhoads and crew can deal w/daddy, and maybe daddy will be pumped about his boy being a Cyclone. We absolutely cannot afford to not pass on this. We probably won't get him, but we have to try.

I have no idea which side you're on.

Part of me likes the idea of T-Mart as a cyclone, and the other part of me feels dirty about it. How big of a slap in the face would it be to our existing players, especially QBs? I value loyalty, and I don't like the message that it sends to our players - we'll take a player that had problems at another school over you, even though you've been with us for a couple of seasons and have already worked hard to be here.

Maybe that's not a winning mentality, but it doesn't feel right to me.

Agreed.

As for the "growing up" thing I read in other posts, the only way these guys grow up is for someone to help them along, just like everybody else.

If Rhoads thinks he can do it, I'm in. If he doesn't, then I believe in his decision.

One thing the Chiz said that I agree with is the objective of recruiting is to replace every starter whether they are returning or not.

I want to get the best possible player we can at any position. This isnt the Girl Scouts where everyone gets a ribbon for participating.

Obviously Bo and he had some problems. Maybe turf toe was on his other foot.

Amused everyone was blaming this all on Bo when it seemed clear to be there were two sides of the story - and as more comes out it's even clearer it's a player issue - not a coach issue.

You have to give the kid a shot if he and his dad want him to come here. I don't care what kind of drama the kid caused or was part of at NU. There is a chance that it works out for all parties involved and everyone is happy here and there is no drama problem at ISU.

He's a great football talent.. that our team needs!!
