wow, so rare to get D lineman with other good offers. As good as a signing day surprise as I've seen in a long time. Maybe since Shontrelle Johnson? (Can't remember if he decided on signing day or just really late.)

Trying to stay level headed and realistic with the new staff, but they are killing it right now. And in an area I thought was one of the biggest question marks when he got hired.

Folks can criticize this all they want. In the end we add TWO defensive lineman that will give us more depth. Will they start some day? I don't know. But it looks as if one of them was highly touted and the other we might have taken a chance on. I'm ok with that. We need depth in the defensive line. Sign me up for being happy with this signing!

If you look around, Defensive players---especially DT's, are hard to come by.

Elite schools are offering 3-star DT's all the time

Yeah, that 2002 class was a full class plus Kory Pence as a grayshirt, and I think only 7 of them actually ever played. It gave us Flynn, Hicks, Nick Leaders and Ryan Kock, though, but the ones we hit on really played a bunch for us. The 14-15 complete busts, no-shows and washouts definitely contributed to Mac's demise. The 2003 was solid and much more stable but it was too late for that regime.
