It was just a few minutes but we just got slammed by rain, hail, and wind here in Johnston. If you're on the east side, be prepared.

So, this is called rain? Is that correct?

24,000 Mid-American customers without power now. That should make some good comments on the Grand Theft Auto thread.

    WTF....I haven't mowed since June 30th.
I ask for rain and I get 70MPH wind. Sweet.

    Meanwhile ......ISU is 0-2

That was a heck of the storm. Crazy how these seemingly come out of nowhere. I was walking out of work and thought "Gee, those sure are some dark clouds out west!" Minutes later, wind storm. Yeowza.

I saw lots of crops down near the metro, NW side DM. Also tons of trees down/split and large branches all over. I came from downtown and it looks like the NW side got it the worst. Neighbor in Grimes has a privacy fence and about 2/3 of it is down - plus tons of other damage.

I was just getting on the mile bridge when the wind, rain, and hail hit around 4. Apparently that is not the place to be when that happens, that was intense.

I heard someone had video of driving on the mile long bridge while there was high wind and it got pretty crazy. Can't find it though

    Same here in Johnston.

BTW 128th st from urbandale to grimes has a power line across the road, 141 is pretty much a parking lot because there are no lights.

Tried to hurry out to beat the storm home on my bike from downtown to Beaverdale, walked out the door, huge gust, downpour begins. Impeccable timing on my part luckily!

Now I'm still at work waiting it out, leaving early tomorrow for sure! Upside!

Where is said mile long bridge?

I have friends in Adel that got it pretty hard. Lots of downed trees. Even their grill was thrown over.

No power here in Urbandale. Pretty good sized limbs down in the yard, too.
