It was here awhile ago, and failed...

I guess I didn't notice. I'll admit, I was slow to warm up to some of the features that made CF unique among message boards. I even thought the credits thing was kind of dumb at first, but today I just lost 1,000,000 on the Cyclones! Now I just think I am kind of dumb...

Yes I AM BLOWING OFF STEAM....I am aware people can multi-task, but really this site was started and is so popular because we all have a devout following of ISU athletics. To me, I would think all of us would love to follow intently the outcome and happenings of the game on hand. Sorry to PO everyone. I am just upset that the season is over.

It has been a rough season to say the least and I think about 90 percent of us are glad that it's over and are already looking forward to next year. It has had it's highs, and it has had it's lows. More lows than highs, but what were we to expect with what we have been through? Yes, we have been spoiled with success in the NCAA tournament a couple years ago and the Cyclone faithful is just dieing for a bowl invitation or even an NCAA birth in the near future. We all feel you frustration trust me!

I read the first page of this thread and some of the 2nd, didn't want to read the same thing re-worded over and over so here's my take:

I watched both games tonight. I didn't post in any game threads. I never do. I'm content to sit, watch a game, and talk about it with the people I'm watching with or whatever. I love the Cyclones but I'm not going to sit here and analyze every footstep that a player takes on the court like some people seem to do (slight hyperbole). I watch, I cheer, I hope we win. At the last buzzer, win or lose, I get over it and move on with life.

How DARE you post a thread about not posting a thread when I'm trying to figure out the thoughts of other people's opinion on this forum.

I like your faith and support, but TRUST ME, I never wanted to see this season end. Despite our fallacies, I'd rather watch the Cyclones in a losing cause than not see them play for 8 months. I'm honored to see them play every time they take the court or field.

Posting on an internet message board is in NO WAY supporting a team. It's posting on a message board.

Get a grip. If you want to actually support your team, go to the games, don't post about it on a message board.

What he said.
Again, look at what I said...I love ISU Athletics...my most important things in my life are as follows....
1. My family - My wife, my son and daughter, and then my mom and dad and then brother, step-sister, and their significant others and their children. These are why all my actions take place. Without them I am nothing.
2. My university - Iowa State University, and the town I grew up in Ames. This is what has made me who I am other than the influences of my family. From my fraternity to my work at the Iowa State Daily when I was in school, it taught me the value of education and the value of your fellow human being. I love you all that have experienced the same vision and goals of our shared experience.
3. My country - I love the fact I live in a country where I am allowed to the load mouth a-hole I am and people accept it. This is why we all enjoy the freedoms and fun we have today. God Bless the troops continuing to fight for our freedom today.

This was a trivial rant venting frustration about a lack of perceived caring of ISu athletics on a site called cyclonefanatic. I apologize again to those offended by my post.

I am siding with Cy Hard on this one. I took a glance at the number of freaking scrabble posts during the game I was unpleasantly surprised. Play solitaire if you are bored. Come May if you want to strategize your Travian (or whatever the **** that is) game plan feel free. I was lucky/unlucky enoough to attend the game. More power to you if you can you remove yopurself enough to concentrate on a internet scrabble game.

Yes I am pized the Clones lost. Opportunity lost. This team and coach and program underachieved.

I think what we really need is a Cyclone Fan purge. We could form a "Commitee for Cyclone Loyalty" that would produce names of traitors to the Cyclone cause. These "traitors" could be dealt with by mobs of people, and we could get them to confess to crimes against Cyclonedom, like not showing up to a game the day before a final, not cheering loud enough, or taking a break from posting to get a snack, go to the bathroom, or having a quickie with the wife. Needless to say, we'll crack down on "posting to other threads during a game."

We could "purge" the elites and collectivize the proletariat. Then we could choose an individual we don't like, and blame all future Cyclone disappointments on them.

Or, we could just chill out and accept that sometimes you are disappointed.

But a purge sounds like fun, dontcha think?

You can't throw out quality ideas like that and then just dismiss them! I say we meet at the secret rendezvous point and develop our tactics. In the meantime, I will be reading Mussolini's memoirs for a few pointers.

Everyone listen to me. I am the decision maker of acceptable etiquette on Cyclonefanatic during Iowa State games. Here are the ground rules:

1. No getting up from the TV. If you are thirsty, have your wife/S.O. bring you something to drink. If you have to go to the bathroom, tell her to bring you a pee jar. If your kid falls and injures himself, tell him to shake it off until after the game. If it is serious to warrant medical attention, summon wife/S.O. Conversing with others during the game IS allowed but you must only discuss the game, nothing more.
2. If you chose to browse Cyclonefanatic during the game, it must be done with a laptop only. The laptop must be on your lap between you and the TV at all times.
3. Before the game begins, make sure to set your homepage to CF. The last thing you want is to fire up your internet browser and have it go to msn.com or whatever your current homepage is. This will not be tolerated.
4. While visiting Cyclonefanatic, DO NOT browse ANY other threads besides the game thread. Doing such will be a 1 week ban from CF. POSTING in another thread will get you banned forever. Even if Roger Sprague returns and starts another glorious thread, you cannot visit it.
5. After the game is complete, posting is allowed in the Post-game Thread. Once 30 minutes have passed since the end of the game, you are free to visit and post in other threads.

These are the rules. You have 2 choices 1) follow them or 2) turn in your Cyclone fan card.

PS. CyHard, why did you post in the "1983 ISU vs. Missouri on Mediacom" thread at 8:20? You should have been 100% devoted to the ISU women's game.
