good post, actually if you read the 4000 posts in the NDSU Iowa State thread, you can pick out the "doucher" isu fans pretty easily. What I don't understand is.... Is some of your fanbase not knowledgable enough about college football to know that NDSU is actually quite a good program? maybe that's where the problem lies.

Lakes I have never addressed you in a post but you need to put this in perspective. Imagine if NDSU lost to the top teams in a division that had 20 or more fewer scholarship's in consecutive years - you would be ok with that because they are the best in their division?

I am as ****** as the next guy about Saturday but to call for the coaches head is ridiculous especially one under contract for as long as he is. Guess what we have had over 50,000 in JTS 20 times in a row, that's unprecedented he isn't going anywhere.

1. Mark Mangino will be fine, people ******** about his offense after the first week are stupid.
a. Likely hasn't installed it all yet
b. Threw screen passes because after QB went out maybe they were triple teaming Bibbs (Sam proved this fact), throwing underneath possibly could have made them play honest. Plus they were pinning their ears back rushing the QB, a screen pass can neutralize that by sucking them in and going over the top of them. That's smart playcalling, did it work, no, but it wasn't like we threw 15 wide receiver screens to the flat.
c. when Farniok went down there was a noticeable change.
d. When Bundrage went down, there went our big time deep threat, allowing them to key on Bibbs downfield.
e. The Ints were bad luck for us and good luck for them.
f. Having both Farniok and QB go out as early as they did spelled disaster. I guarantee you they got most of the reps during game week with the new offense being installed. I believe it would have been a dog fight with those two not so much of a laugher.
2. The defense needs help, we all knew this going in. What I do see is a lot of young guys playing, Alton Meeks will have a good career here. The ejection of Cotton Moya was BS, if that's how they are going to call targeting this year, I may say **** college football.

3. Those of you calling CW out for making fun of the NDSU fan need to leave this FREE site immediately of CW needs to start charging for the use of the immense amount of content that this website provides. It would definitely reduce the number of DA's around here. Every one of us would have laughed at that guy calling the score, we all knew it would be a tough game but all of us didn't think we would get beaten down.

it is not good----we simply do not have enough talent---easily the basement is between ISU an KU--- if my recollection is correct--this is first press conference JP not with Rhoads---Richardson perhaps could run a Jr. High team....big big problems in Cyclone Land....just calling it as I see it....JP has big decision to make at end of year.....

You are a good FCS team, but an FBS team in a Power 5 conference should never ever get throttled by an FCS team. Very bad sign of things to come for us. You will see.

I'll step away when I'm given any indication going over isn't the best way to handle the situation.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong

Fantastic contribution you made

Whatever the penalty was, it resulted in ejection, and once that bell is rung, it can't be unrung. A booth review cannot overturn an ejection, which made the booth review an absolute waste of time.

Or you could learn the rule before making yourself like an idiot.

When a targeting penalty is called, the player is ejected and there is a 15 yard penalty. Last year, the booth could overturn the ejection call but there was still a 15 yard penalty. This past offseason they changed it so now if the booth says no targeting then there is not a 15 yard penalty. Fantastic contribution on your part though!

Got any links for that or are you making **** up? Because it was made pretty clear on the TV that he was gone regardless.

That headline certainly doesn't beat around the bush, does it?

For those who think criticism (or at least serious concern) is unwarranted, read the first two paragraphs of that write-up. It's also a perfect balance of the quandary: Rhoads is passionate, and it can be infectious; ISU fans are historical patient, but they do have a breaking point, sometimes that point occurs earlier for some, later for others).

I've been among the negative CFers after this game (elevated by much of what has transpired from Liberty Bowl onward), but I don't consider myself an ***hat, or whatever the term is. But threads like this make me feel like I'm lumped in with the most extremely negative fans (who, even if I think they're overreacting and launch into seemingly unwarranted tirades, often include a grain of truth).

I have done none of the following things over the weekend (and neither have a lot of debbie-downers):
1. Called for Rhoads to be fired. He should be experiencing a build-up of scrutiny, yes, but I'm not calculating the budgetary limitations of a buyout right now.
2. Specifically bashing a player, such as saying Richardson can't play and Rohach should start, or such. (I did comment in the game thread that Lazard should have attempted to use two hands to secure the catch on that INT, but that's more of a coaching issue for development).
3. Suggested that ISU's problem is that the talent is sub-par (if anything the staff has found a way to squander talent in the "skill" positions).
4. Suggested that we're automatically headed for another 3-9 season or worse (I did text a co-worker something similar during the game. It was during the third quarter. Did anyone else feel any different?).
5. Bash CW. (As negative as I can occasionally get, I felt uncomfortable about that stuff).

My biggest concerns?
* How can a team look so promising on both sides of the ball for a quarter, then look entirely different the final three? (This isn't the first time that has happened).
* Why do fans make excuses about having a key starter sidelined — not just that it would have impact — losing an impact WR and your starting center is not going to help. But the team is night-and-day different because of it? ISU won at Nebraska in '09 when its starting QB and RB were out. Rhoads coached that game.
* How do so many of the same offensive struggles happen under 3 different coordinators? And don't tell me Mangino's scheme was just a matter of "saving everything for later" or "hasn't installed it yet." When is it going to be “installedâ€￾? Of course you don't want to reveal your entire hand on opening day. But when you get in danger of losing the "gimmie" non-conference home opener (since apparently the best way to build up a program is to schedule as weakly as possible and FCS is as low as you can go), you might as well pull out all the stops and see what happens. I'd love to save the fake punts and 4th-and-1 attempts in our own territory for the likes of Oklahoma, if we're in the game late, but why not do what you gotta do regardless of opponent?

I wonder if you use more periods if that might help things.
