Wow. I felt like The Force Awakens was a much better movie in terms of:

Acting & dialogue
Pacing (using the traditional George Lucas format)
Musical score- not even close

I would suspect people that think Rogue One is better are:

-young
-prequel fans [bleh]
-prefer LOTR, Harry Potter, & Marvel over Star Wars

Can one like both TFA and rogue one, the prequels and the originals? Just curious because it seems like one must be bias according to some peoples logic.

I'm 37, I have enjoyed the star wars franchise as a whole. The story is what i appreciate. Yes, some of the movies were not great but the story itself was good.

As for Rogue one, screw the character development, there really is no point as this was a gap filler and thats what i really enjoyed. It was awesome to see Darth Vader in full BA mode! K2SO was a good character, I found myself wishing he would be in more movies as did i with Jyn.

The novice movie goer will probably not appreciate this movie as much as a junkie but i think its still enjoyable. Overall, 7/10.

You must be new here. The way we roll on CycloneFanatic.com is that it's not okay just to politely disagree with someone without being disagreeable. We always take it one step further by mocking those who feel differently than us and being obnoxiously condescending towards them. Engaging your inner a**hole on here is how it's done man!

Anyway, I saw the movie Thursday night, but due to a big power outage missed about the last half hour (the best part of the movie, as it turns out). Went back to see the whole thing last night with the refund ticket and really enjoyed it (and yes, I enjoyed TFA as well. This idea that you have to like one or the other but not both is just stupid and needs to be labeled as such).

Bit tongue in cheek here, but if those Rebel spaceship fighters were so effective on the AT-AT's on the beach there during the ending action sequence, how come they didn't have more of those ships on Hoth?

Really liked Hammerhead Corvette as well.

Forest Whitaker's character was just a bit underused in my opinion. I would have liked to have seen what he could have done as a warrior during one of the action sequences.

Really enjoyed the movie. Yes, I like all the movies because of the overall story. TFA, Rogue One and Originals were awesome movies. I suffered thru the prequels because I wanted to know the backstory, Lucas butchered them.

Best part to me was how they flipped a gigantic middle finger to everyone who had complained about how the Death Star had a design flaw that made it vulnerable.

I am over 50, liked LOTR, never watched a single Harry Potter movie. I liked both, but Rogue one more, so screw you!!!!

I have determined that certain people who think TFA was better are:
- not very smart
- emotionally unstable
- Hawk fans

those ships, the fighters, were being used to escort the transports out of system. The Rebels didn't really care to win the ground battle with the Empire on Hoth. They just didn't want to lose fast enough to let the Empire capture anyone.

I saw it first night with friends and die hard star wars fans only. zero questions just serious star wars watchers only. we all enjoyed it. The first night I found myself spending more time focusing on when vader would show up and how awesome he would be. I went agian with wife and kid today. Much more enjoyable because i knew how little vader was in it. I think they didnt have much Vader because they didnt want him to seem inept and making a bunch of mistakes. Also I feel he will get a stand alone movie. Hunting down remaining jedi. and maybe looking for luke. Also i think the biggest thing was lack of light saber bothered a lot of people. I really enjoyed it and might be my 2nd favorite star wars behind empire.

Saw it today. ******* fantastic. The Vader scene did not disappoint. It was better than I expected. Right up there with ESB.

Absolutely fantastic film that services fans and the general public. Fills in plot holes from ANH perfectly. Explains the thermal exhaust port weakness, why the rebels are short on fighters and have to use inexperienced farm boys, how Princess Organa got the plans etc etc. People who complain about the score must remember John Williams is upper 80s in age and composing ep VIII. Asking someone that old to compose two Star Wars pics back to back is a bit much.

I don't check any of those three boxes. I liked The Force Awakens, but I wish that they would have put a little more imagination into it. They basically had a bigger, badder Death Star and the goal was to blow it up just like E4. A few minor changes would have made a huge difference.

Rogue One needed more Vader. Period.
